I must say that this hotel was a good stay. There was enough room for us to move around. It was within walking distance to shopping, food, etc. The food they served for breakfast was very good and freshly made. I definitely would recommend this hotel for your stay to Florence, Italy..

We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly attentative staff and general reception area. The bathroom for our room -210 - was lovely, sparkly clean and had fabulous white soft towels. However, the bedroom was small, cramped and furnished a rather tired beige colour. The walls were very very thin!! Overall our stay was fine but the bedrooms of this hotel...

This is not a 4 star hotel. An average 3 start at best. Room was clean, but small. The decor is dated, beds and pillows are hard. Hotel bar is limited in selection. The restaurant has very high prices (we did not eat there, walked 5 min and paid half).

Our son is studying abroad in Florence and this hotel came recommended by his school. Ended up being right across the street where our son is living for the semester so it worked out great. The hotel is just a 5-8 minute walk from the Duomo just far enough to have some quietness in the evening. The room is adequate....

Florence was the last leg of our family vacation and we stayed here for three nights. The hotel is located in a quiet area of town and it's a bit off the beaten path. The hotel is generally clean and the service is friendly. The rooms are a little small, but they were adequate for our family and we survived...

We stayed here for a few days in October last year. The hotel failed to advise us before hands that they are in a car-restricted heritage area. Parking fee was charged by the hotel for the entire duration our hire car was with us. And yet, recently, we received a notice of violation from the council because our car wasn't...

We've been here just for one day. The overall look of the place was oldish and a bit decadent. The WiFi didn't work and the shower was very week. I must say, though, that the personnel was kind and efficient and the room fairly clean. I wouldn't complain if it was a 3 stars, but expected much more from a...

It was a nice stay for three days, the first room we got was a bit small so we requested to be moved to a bigger room, the receptionist were so collaborative and responded to our request rapidly and switched us to a bigger room with the only balcony in the hotel and it's the biggest balcony you could ever...

I accompanied a niece on a school trip to Italy this spring. We covered a lot of ground in 10 days. Of the 8 hotels the tour booked us in to, this was by far the best. Large, clean, comfortable room, wifi, and the breakfast that came with it was very good. Walking distance to center of town.

Fabulous hotel in a very convenient location close to churches and museums. Bus stop just across the street. Very clean hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were large. Breakfast was very good. Try to avoid the street side rooms because of the street noise

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
