Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

7 Santi was my favorite hostel through my backpacking trip. The buses are easily accessible from the hostel and there is a cyber cafe just across the street.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. It was my first hostel stay with a phone in the room! The bathrooms were large and clean, I would definitly recommend this place.

This hostel is not your average where hustle and bustle is the norm - no earplugs necessary. I felt very refereshed after my three country trek. 7 Santi is a recently converted convent where the brothers and sisters of Sette Santi still live and tend their wonderful garden. The staff is friendly and the buses are situated right outside to take you to the center. I would recommend this specifically to travelers who are solo as you will certainly feel safe here.

Wasn't the greatest hostel, no air-con when we travelled in one of the hottest parts of the month. Mattresses were a little thin and uncomfortable. The breakfast and dinner were mediocre (you only paid 6/7 euros for all you can eat). Location was good, but with all the construction work outside Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station, the busses weren't running to their usual stops and we couldn't find a bus for over 1.5 hours.

The room we were allocated smelt like an open sewer. We initially thought that if we closed the bathroom door it would make the stench go away. It did. However, when opening the bathroom I nearly vomited from the overwhelming poop stench that clung to my nostrils and invaded the entire room in seconds. If this wasn’t bad enough, there was only one power source in the entire room to share between four people. We were also only given one key to share between us which made coming and going quite difficult. This hostel is far from bustling Florence and instead, on the outskirts of the city near a run down skate park and grocery story. People came home drunk at the very early hours of the morning and woke everyone up. Shower was not big enough to fit anyone taller then a 12 year old child and you needed to be skinnier then Viktoria Beckham. The water temperature also liked to keep you guessing as to whether it would be hot or cold. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

We booked via Hotels.com (part of Expedia Group) and the room we got was not what was promised. Be careful of this place. The management first promised full refund but after a 'director' arrived they refused. This is just laughable and yet - another customer came to complain about same issue!

We had a private double with private bath. Very clean! Beds soft, towels included, no need to return sheets.
Reception was friendly with free map. They are at reception 24 hours, gates dont close. Wifi strong at lobby area
To get to the place, get on bus 17 at the far left side of Firenze sta maria novella. The one right in front of the station is the bus from the hotel. Anyway so get off at sette santi stop, as of now the building beside the stop is under renovation, so with it to your left, walk straight, cross the street and you have the church in front of you, look around to the left of the church and you will see the sign of the hostel. Check out the pictures i will post. :) to go back to firenze smn, hop on to the bus across the street at the left, then get off at staziona penalesa or pensalena. Something like that. Check out the pics again.
And then the location is like 30 minutes from the center but I found it was okay. Last bus was around midnight. You have plenty of time. I will try to post the bus sched next time but if not, just remember to get home midnight.
Food, we didnt try but it was available from 730 they said but around 7 I already saw food. Cheap at 4 eu. For the same price elsewhere you would only get pizza. Dinner was at 7. Very cheap with wine already. Like aperitivo quality. Good if you are sick of paying 30 eu for dinner. But dinner around firenze was very good in general.
Place around hotel had lots of cheap stores, also there was a supermarket beside, tabacchi shop to get bus tickets at 1,20 eu.

We stayed 4 nights in 7 Santi Hostel at the end of October (29.10 - 02.11). According to previous accomodations in more expensive 1 and 2 stars hotels in Firenze, this hostel is excellent! The 7 euro buffet dinner (delicious pasta, Tuscan meat dishes, fresh salads + glass of Chianti /beer) is comparable to the cuisine of top ranked trattorias in Oltrarno! The staff is very helpful! Grazie for the pleasant stay in this beautiful city!

The owner of this hostel, Stefano, is a real sleazebag. We tried to cancel our stay here for 48 hours to get a full refund, but he ignored our continual inquiries and refused to refund us, even though the hostelworld contract clearly states that we could make adjustments to our stay up the 24 hours in advance. Furthermore, his staff is completely incompetent and "can't do ANYTHING without Stefano's permission." This is a real shady place --- poorly operated by a disreputable owner. I would not trust this guy with my credit card number.

We were traveling with a group of high schoolers in Italy and found this recommended thru Rick Steves. We arrived and found no place to put our luggage even though they stated in an email, we could use a room. One of our chaperones missed out on 6 hours of Florence since he had to stay back and watch all of our luggage, and then haul it all 34 suticases to rooms without any help. The rooms were moderately clean, with one room having dirty towels and tolietries left in the shower: none of us wanted to walk barefoot. The bathrooms and showers are co-ed and we had to switch rooms around since all the students were placed on one floor and the adults on another, we didn't feel our girls would be safe with various ages of males lounging around. The showers were hit and miss, either no hot water or scalding. Some of the locks on the doors did not work, and others were falling off the actual door. The food for dinner was actually really good and the kitchen staff helpful. We would not stay there ever again due to our concerns not of much interest to the manager. Also some other student groups were there and not at all supervised, running in the hallways yelling and drinking. Bring ear plugs. Some rooms ended up without electricity. This hostel's lack of cleanliness and feeling of being safe are not okay. They need to invest some money into repairs. Also the front desk told us to take both the 10 and 17 to get back to the train station. #10 does not go there and half of our group almost missed their connection: so beware of their advice.

Dirty and far out from town in a dodgy area. I’m itchy everywhere after staying here. Only good thing is the courtyard. Lift is slower than a sloth so you are waiting forever, especially with luggage. A bed is a bed though, and they supply towels and there‘s a supermarket next door. Walls need a paint though. There’s blood on some of them
