I had the best experience staying at Hotel Il Bargellino at the recommendation of friends. Logistically, the hotel is very convenient to both the train station as well as most attractions. The hotel is clean and lovingly decorated and maintained. It really captures the character

My fiancé and I stayed here for three nights on our two-week trip through Italy this past September. We had a very lovely stay here, though the biggest downfall was the bed being a bit uncomfortable. No breakfast on site but plenty of nearby cafés for coffee or a quick bite. The

Thank you for taking the time to post. We believe that your issue with the bed was a question of personal preference. We do offer espresso coffee and packaged pastries in double rooms. There are also refrigerators in all double rooms. For future reference, by popular request, we are considering offering guests a continental breakfast this Spring and Fall season. Carmel and Pino

My girlfriend and I stayed here recently. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the terrace for relaxing. The room was fine with a small fridge. Would have been perfect if the room had an en suite. Would definitely stay here again.

Hi, we will be travelling by car can you confirm where to park in 2017.
Driving/parking directions: Get a map of Florence if possible and plot a route before you go. It may be a good idea to rent a GPS device along with the car. You can also plot a route with Map Quest. Keep in mind that if you drive on a street marked (ZTL) "Limited Traffic Zone" you WILL receive a hefty fine. You are generally not allowed to drive in the city center. However "Hotel Il Bargellino" can be reached without specific permits if you follow these directions: Buckle up!! Get off exit "Firenze Certosa", "Firenze Nord" or "Firenze Sud" depending on which Direction you're coming from. Follow signs first for "Centro", then for "Fortezza Da Basso" and "Stazione Santa Maria Novella" Get to "Viale Spartaco Lavagnini", From "Viale Spartaco Lavagnini" either turn right onto or cross onto (depending on which direction you're coming from) "Via S. C. D'Alessandria". Turn right onto Via Dolfi at the beginning of Piazza D’Indipendenza. On the other side of this Piazza turn left and follow to the end of the Piazza then take second right onto Via Della Fortezza. Then left onto Via Del Pratello where you’ll see the Piazza Del Crocifisso and the "Garage Palacongressi" which is nearest to the hotel. (Stop in this square to get your bearings if necessary) Do not drive directly through this small Piazza or you will end up at the station SMN and have to drive all around again to get back. To drive directly to the hotel (without parking at the garage) proceed down Via Del Pratello, which will change name and become Via Guelfa. We're located at Via Guelfa # 87 on the right (about a 25 meters from the garage) (The agreed rate at this garage for our guests €21 for a mid-size car, larger vehicles may cost more this is subject to change without notice contact the garage for more precise information) Not allowed to post map PDF here Remember to STOP at Piazza Del Crocifisso to find Via Guelfa.
