Palazzo Vecchio Hotel is just across the street from Florence railway station, close to the city centre, and that alone makes it handy for sightseeing, shopping etc. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is served in a clean, cozy room and includes everything Italians might wish for, plus a "savvy" selection for foreigners or those wishing a bigger meal. The room had a tiny clean ensuite bathroom and a small balcony. The only downside is the furniture, a bit old to be honest. And those ugly dark streaks above the radiator must go! I would suggest revamping the place, as in redecorating. It would provide a fresher, invigorating twist to the hotel as a whole !

The hotel is in an amazing location, less than 5 minutes from the train station and around 15 minutes walk to some of the main attractions in Florence. The staff were always on hand for any questions and gave us a friendly welcome. Breakfast was great value and offered a small but varied range of food and drinks. The air con in the room wasn't super powerful, but there was a mini fridge, which was helpful to keep drinks cool in the summer heat. The room was fairly basic but clean and it had pretty much everything we needed as we only used it as a base and were out exploring each day. Bed was comfortable and large. Overall we loved our stay and paid a great price for the location and time of year of our visit, we would happily return.

The location is excellent, located in a quiet street, a 5 minute level walk from the railway station. From the station the integrated tram/bus system gives easy /cheap access to the airport & the main areas of Florence. However, most of the main sites are within easy walking distance.

The hotel itself is a little gem. You'll get a friendly greeting when going in or out & any questions, if reception can't answer immediately, they will find the answer. As people who don't drink coffee but travel with teabags & sugar we asked for a kettle & cups... no problem & the mini fridge kept the proper milk, bought from the nearby supermarket, cold.

On the subject of food, breakfast offered a good selection of cold cuts, a limited choice of hot food but many sweet/cake options & coffee to order.

As a very light sleeper, a room at the rear of the building, overlooking the courtyard was bliss, as was the balcony to slump on after a full day of sightseeing. The bed was extremely comfortable with crisp white cotton sheets & the room & bathroom were spotlessly clean. The temperatures were
30C+ but the closed shutters & curtains meant the room stayed cool.

If we return to Florence, would we stay here again....Absolutely.

I had a great time at Hotel Palazzo Vecchio. I traveled solo for business and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with local recommendations, I felt very safe which was important to me. They were also very accommodating in storing my luggage while I finished a short work trip.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Florence!
It is about 10 minutes away walking from the Doumo and a 3 minute walk to the train station.

This hotel was our base for a 3 night city break in Florence, and we were very happy with our choice. It is a three star hotel with a certain dignity of style, and spotlessly maintained throughout. We were thrilled on opening the shutters in our room to find a view over picturesque rooftops and of the Duomo itself, illuminated in the evenings. We had paid extra for a top floor room with city view but it surpassed expectations. We loved our room, and the bathroom too was perfect. Good wifi too. The reception staff were attentive and welcoming, and the breakfast dining room staff very helpful. Alongside the usual continental buffet there were two cooked options, bacon or sausages with scrambled eggs - perhaps not their finest feature, but we enjoyed our breakfasts nonetheless. The location of the hotel deserves special mention, as it is within easy walking distance from the tram terminus from the airport, and incredibly well placed for walking into the old city. No problem finding excellent trattorias within a minute’s walk for our dinners. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great location near Santa Maria Novella station and walking distance to everywhere in Florence. We had a room with a view- it was beautiful to look out on Brunelleschi’s dome and the city. However, the doors and shutters leading onto the small balcony with the view were very old and warped so it was really difficult to access outside to enjoy the view. The was one old plastic chair, not a nice outdoor setting, so you weren’t really encouraged to make the most of the view you paid for. It was also hard to shut the windows and doors securely. If these were replaced by metal shutters and doors it would be so much better.
There was a kettle in the room but no adapter so it could only be plugged into one socket near the bed. No tea bags (black tea) and when I asked reception I was told I couldn’t get any or any milk.
The breakfast staff were friendly and made great tea and coffee, including barista style coffee, which we appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, and we're glad to hear that you appreciated our great location and the beautiful view from your room. We're sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the balcony doors and shutters. Your observations are indeed valid, and we agree that improvements can be made in this regard. We'll look into upgrading them to enhance our guests' experience. Regarding the kettle and tea bags, we apologize for any inconvenience you faced. Typically, there should be an adapter provided, and there is usually a welcome set of tea and coffee in the room. We'll ensure that these items are consistently available for our guests in the future. We're delighted to hear that you had a positive experience with our breakfast staff and enjoyed the tea and coffee they prepared. We'll continue to provide excellent service in this aspect. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we appreciate your suggestions for improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back, and we'll strive to make your next stay even more enjoyable.

The Palazzo Vecchio hotel is located a few steps from the station and all the major cultural places in Florence. The staff is friendly, the rooms are spotless and equipped with everything you could need; breakfast is very varied with sweet and savory options and freshly prepared hot drinks. We couldn't have made a better choice and, being in the industry, we could only congratulate them on the excellent work they did.
Until next time! Gemma and Fabio

Good Hotel 5 minutes from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Rooms small but very clean. Breakfast offerings were excellent, offering croissants, baked goods, fruits, juices, yogurt, cereal plus scrambled eggs and bacon (most welcome by Americans, thank you!). Service was excellent, I had a problem with my TV upon arrival, and the young lady at the front desk immediately took care of it (night of April 7). Very nice quiet neighborhood with several restaurants within 5 minute walking distance. I would definitely stay here again because of its proximity to the train station! My only suggestion would be to offer shower caps, body lotion and tissues in the bathroom. And a coffee pot in the room please.

The Hotel Palazzo Vecchio is located across the road from the Florence Central train station. A small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Our room was on the ground floor. It was small but very clean. Our bed was a super king-size with a very comfortable mattress. The bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath with lots of hot water. The bath sheets were large and fluffy. We had window shutters and french doors leading out onto a private balcony . Our room also had a small fridge, air conditioning and a kettle.
The buffet breakfast was varied and delicious and is available from 7.30am. We needed to leave early for our flight and we were provided with a packed breakfast on our day of departure.
The only downside, and it wasn't the hotel's fault, was there was a school party of teenagers staying, who were noisy until after midnight. Hotel staff were helpful in asking them to be quiet. The issue was more with the students supervising adults, who did not keep them in check.
We were impressed with the hotel and would recommend to others.

Historic hotel near the Santa Maria Novella station whose name I remembered having already been there about thirty years ago. Convenient location near the station and not far from the centre, good value for money, decent breakfast in the morning which is provided but with little fruit and vegetables which are essential in the morning for a healthy breakfast. Maintenance to be taken care of more, sink blocked by previous guests and A big flaw: the complete soundproofing of the rooms, (noises from neighboring rooms can be heard, a continuous dragging of chairs due to the breakfast room of the neighboring hotel). It seems like you hear a move every morning! it would be enough to soundproof the border walls to obtain safe isolation and therefore greater silence in the rooms. However, definitely recommended for the location. Thank you
