It is an excellent hotel. Home away from home. The location is excellent within a walking distance to all important sites. It’s nearby the train station making it ideal if you want to go for day trips. The staff is friendly and very nice and always ready to give you advice. Everybody meets you with a smile. Welcoming staff, clean room and bathroom and good location makes Mario's a good choice for your stay in Florence. One person in our group had a medical emergency and the staff was very helpful with that problem. The restaurant recommendations were always good with location taken into consideration. Mario's is not upscale or luxurious, but it is clean, has everything...

The plus: Great location, close to the station and fairly close to the Duomo. Lots of good restaurants around. The breakfast here is delicious(the basic items too were tasty). The concierge at the reception are very helpful. The wireless reception was good, but we had to keep trying from different access accounts (you have to scan for an available one...

Friendly, knowlegable staff, spotless facility, just blocks from train station, what more could one hope for when selecting a room in a distant city. The atmosphere is the hotel is as welcoming and tasteful as the Florentine surroundings. We go back here time and again when visiting this fantastic city. Leonard and his family could not be better hosts. You...

Hotel Mario's is conveniently located a short and easy walk (with luggage) from the train station. The reception is on the first floor and we received a warm welcome on arrival at this family owned hotel. We had a lovely room (for four) which had its own goodsized bathroom and high ceilings which gave it a nice spacey feel. Breakfast...

My fiancee and I loved our stay in Hotel Mario's, and we hope to return. The service? Outstanding. 24 hours, someone is at the desk, and they are all exceedingly polite and kind and helpful and welcoming. The breakfast? Best we had in Italy. Warm, fresh-made croissants every few minutes... made to order cappucinnos, fresh-made paninis, delicious cheese and meat...

5 of us (2 adults, 3 teenagers) stayed at Mario's in July. Greatly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and attractive and reasonably sized. Hotel staff was excellent with recommendations and always very helpful. As a small hotel it was quiet. Location is outstanding, about a block from train/bus station and about a 5 minute walk from Medici chapel or...
