I stayed at another building next to the reception. There was resident or traveller partying late night downstairs made us hard to sleep. Overall, it`s good. Wifi connection should be used in no.7 building as well.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the chiazza for 2 nights when we visited Florence in June. After having read such great reviews, I must say I was rather disappointed with our stay. Our room was not in the main building, and while there was nothing wrong with it per say- it was definitely not worth the price. It probably...

We pay for a hostel and stayed in a 3 star hotel so our expectations were absolutely exceeded. 100% recommended, amazing service and breakfast in a great location 2 blocks away from the Basilica.

After reading some of the reviews for this hotel on various websites, I thought that I would give it a try. We stayed here for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and its location. Our room was comfortable, clean and we were able to see the Duomo from our room. We were able to walk to all...

This hotel was probably our biggest and best surprise of our eurotrip. We booked it 2 days in advance, and at the ultraffordable rate of 60 euros a night, we weren't expecting much. We walked from the train station, right past the Duomo, and it was only a 15 minute walk (5 from the Duomo). It was a little confusing...

You arrive at Borgo Pinti #5, and you don't see the hotel's name anywhere.. the actual name is Hotel Cardinal of Florence. IMPORTANT! They should update this, but in the meantime.. write that down! Location is fine. It's not right in front of the main attractions, but close enough, just a few minutes walking to any of the sights. The...

The staff at the Chiazza were so friendly! I was studying based in Prato and had to come into Florence once a week for one month and the staff always remembered me and were extremely helpful. The room, booked as a single for a very good price, was actually a double in a lovely atmospheric building overlooking a courtyard. Bathroom...

If arriving by train - take a taxi there (not worth lugging the luggage for 20 minutes). Pretty good location - 15 minutes from Duomo. On a small street, so pretty quiet. The only minus - no elevators, so you need to climb 3 flights of stairs (pretty tall steps). The rooms are very spacious. AC. Shower curtain is not...

We loved our stay at this hotel. Perfect location and the amazing staff really made our stay. A nice desk clerk recommended two amazing restaurants and places to go out at night after. The guy really went out of his way for us letting us use his computer at the front desk to check internet. Then another staff member was...

We actually stayed in the apartment behind the hotel. We think it was just converted to an apt from possibly being a shop of some sort. The entrance was all glass with an awning, like a store, but they had big curtains to give you privacy. It was so far into the courtyard, nobody came by anyways. We don't think...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.

“Perhaps the atmosphere in building #5 is nicer; don't stay in #7.”

“Make sure you don't get the room that is directly off of the breakfast room- would be quite noisy and no privacy in the mornings.”

“We got assigned the room closest to reception - which i hate because of noise - but had absolutely zero problems with noise or disturbances. Note that while they have A.C., it's not controllable in each room - it's just an overall AC unit that cools all the rooms at the same time and temp simultaneously.”
