I stayed here for 10 days with a study abroad group and couldn't have felt more at home! It's a family operated hotel, quiet, and homey. My only complaint is that our bathroom shower door did not close (it was missing a panel) and the breakfast was small. Neither of which bothered me much. Definitely recommend Hotel Ferretti!

The location is great, the room and bath were perfectly clean and comfortable but the best thing about ferretti is the people who attended us. Very nice family. We are totally glad of staying here. If you arrive at the train station is the best location possible. Also is a very good location to know the city center. The reception is open 24 hours, I think is a family business and they are very friendly, my room was always clean and the breakfast was nice too. I had a good stay and I would repeat.

Room was smelling terrible ... I couldn't recognise my room in any of the hotels photo, bed was awful and they charged me a higher price than they advertise... only plus was that the staff spoke pretty well english, would not recommend this hotel.

My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Hotel Ferretti celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and visiting our daughter who is attending university in lovely Florence. For the price, we were quite pleased with the accommodations. We had a clean room, and the staff was appropriately hospitable. We enjoyed our interactions with the family who operates (owns?) this quaint...

The staff were very friendly and helpful and always smiling. The place was spotless and in a great, very central location, good for the train station and the centre. It was good value. However, the bed in our room was pretty awful – you could feel the springs. The room was also very small and very noisy (not the hotel’s...

I believe that in your country there are different classifications of categories for hotels. In Italy the category starts from 1 star (lowest) to 5 stars (luxury). Our hotel is rated 1 star and offer the requirements imposed by law for the category. If you want to have more comforts like air conditioning instead of a ceiling fan, the bathroom...

This hotel is located centrally near the train station. All the other highlights of the city are also at a walking distance. Hotel was clean and all the amenities are up to our expectations. They did not have TV in the room but who has time to watch TV in a city like Florence. Conveniently, they have a ceiling fan...

My partner and I stopped at this hotel for 3 nights. We had the room that was across from reception which at first worried us, perhaps excess noise due to guests coming and going, but we had no issue at all. The room was a good size, the bathroom was a bit of a strange shape, but this is more...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
