Stayed here Jan '17 with my son. The location is excellent, very central and next to Duomo Plaza, around 2 minutes from the Uffizi, 5 mins from the Ponte Vecchio. It's down a small alleyway but your taxi will know it. Side note, taxis to/from the airport are at a set rate so you won't be ripped off! Reception staff...

We spent 2 nights in this hotel. The location is great, just 1 minute from the shopping center and 15 minutes from the train station. We booked a double room but they gave us triple room. Our room (218) was very comfortable but not so clean and quiet. There was mold on the walls... The WiFi was very good. The...

Great Hotel, Great Location in the middle of the center, with everything close by! The service was friendly. The rooms were spacious. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Florence.

The location of the hotel was quite satisfying. I strongly recommend it if you'd like to stay somewhere you can bump into your room 2-3 times a day. Breakfast was not perfect but ok. 2.30 pm is too late to check-in because we arrived to Firenze early in the morning. They helped us and kept our bags but we couldn't...

I had a nice stay at this hotel. Room was clean. Bed was little softer than I would like, but acceptable. Bathroom was clean and everything was in working order. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel is located in the center of the city, so it was very close to most of the attractions. There's lots of shops and place to eat...

We were very pleased with this hotel - very spacious rooms, very clean, lots of amenities and the breakfast had a good amount of variety. We enjoyed the location, close to all the major sites, restaurant and station. The only negative is that we heard alot of noise from the streets and within the hotel - seems to echo alot....

We landed at the Albergo Firenze because we didn't know any better (and because a very central location mattered to us) ... Quite frankly, the place wasn't very welcoming. Our room and the bathroom were alright, quiet, clean, spacious and functional (apart from the beds/bedsprings/mattrasses which were a bit tired, and the televison never really worked either) - but absolutely...

Very friendly staff speaking several languages. Ou room was rather large with a small bathroom (better than the other way around!). Beds were quite comfortable Hotel situation can hardly be any better next to the Duomo and several other "must see" places. Buffet breakfast was reasonable if not exceptionnal. All in all very good stay at reasonable price.

While this hotel seemed adequate, it had quite a lot of faults. Our room was on the top floor and had a view of the Duomo. HOWEVER, the windows were maybe 2'x2' and were five feet off the ground so the Duomo was literally the only thing you could see. I felt a little claustrophobic. While the rooms are in...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
