My rating of this hotel is based mostly on the location, which is perfect for all of the main attractions. The rooms were tired, but clean, however this somehow added to the ambience of the place. Lovely high ceilings and big rooms. Tall windows and a fab view. Quite high up and great for people watching. The continental breakfast was...

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The Hotel's website is accurate their pictures are not deceiving. The hotel is centrally located in the Piazza Republica. The rooms facing the back are quiet. The mattress was firm and comfortable The breakfast is good and fresh, with more then enough to start one's day. One caveat, if you are a tall...

Poor bathroom without cabin, wifi is good but 1.5 euro per hour, poorly insulated walls-heard talking in the other rooms and the hallway.Perfect location, very clean room, comfortable bed, safe box, good climate.

Good location with very high ceilings. Unfortunately, thats where the positives end. Bathroom is tiny, toilet is in the shower and did not find the staff very helpful. Might be ok for students, price dependant.

Perfectly located. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room is little bit small, but with view. if you driving parking available near by hotel (indoor and outdoor). Hotel provides discount. Breakfast was very good. Diffidently would recommend.

Loved the location. Piazza della Repubblica. A few blocks from the duomo. Restaurants right outside the door. Not impressed with the room I stayed however, its a 3 star. There is a bed and a bathroom. So, I did not mind. Wasn't planning on being in a room through my stay in Florence. Just needed a place to sleep. There...

I stayed at the hotel. The room was dirty with a layer of dust on the tables. When I checked in with my partner I felt an incredibly hostel experience with the man that we checked in with. We also have to hand in our key everytime we leave. The rooms don't feel secure and the safes are not big...

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is small and simple. I wouldn’t expect any luxury, the rooms are decent size and has all your amenities. Small breakfast area with a small selection for breakfast, but it’s really cosy. No free WiFi at the hotel. Located right in the central, but on the 4th floor so noise was not a...

The Olimpia is a budget hotel and so the accommodation is simple but that is more than made up for by the wonderful location - right in the heart of the city - and the excellent, welcoming staff. A generous buffet breakfast is included, eaten in a room with a view of the Duomo and the bustling Piazza Della Repubblica....

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
