Beatuiful building and great facilities, placed in the best location of Firenze. Amazing service, the team is always trying to make your experience better and better. Fully recommendable, I will definitely come back again to the NH collection Firenze Porta Rossa.
Great location. Most of the Florence attractions can be reached by a 10 min walk. Hotels with great location sometimes have a tendency to not focus on the customer enough. Not here... the hotel staff was great, rooms were good and service staff effective and invisible. The rooms might be a bit small, this is why I booked a junior suite. The prize difference was reasonable and the junior suite is a comfortable size room. The breakfast is a bit expensive but I am not having breakfast anyways. Find your favorite cafe in Florence and you dont need breakfast at the hotel. I would definitely choose the hotel again.
The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and helpful without being too intrusive. The building is several centuries old but has managed to retain its character on being adapted to a hotel. I had a suite with a high ceiling and a large bed that was cleverly placed in the middle of the room, meaning I could walk about without bumping into anything. A large wardrobe offered plenty of hanging and drawer space; so no having to live out of a suitcase. The bathroom was also large, with a separate bath and shower. There was a very nice and well maintained breakfast room with a big selection. You would not go hungry! The hotel did not serve lunch or dinner. However, this was not a major issue as there were many restaurants nearby.
NH Firenze Rossi I stayed at this hotel twice during my time in Florence. I had to go north for a few days, and then returned to the Firenze Rossi. It’s said to be the oldest hotel in Italy, and at times, it felt like it…. With evaluators, lack of views, no common area… First, Matteo from the desk was great and super attentive. MariaSylvia from the concierge was also great, helping to secure me a taxi to and from Moderna. All of the went smoothly. She also recommended a company to host a tour of Tuscany for me, I actually booked but didn’t end up going (too much to see in Florence). My complaint is about the hotel itself and that my room the second stay WREAKED of sewage! It was worse at night. Unbearable! I had to sleep with the bedroom door closed. I did complain about it, but nothing was done. It smells awful right now as I type! It wasn’t as bad the first night, in a different room. This time, I stayed 3 additional nights, and I can barely be in my room due to the smell. The towel flush plate fell off and into the toilet! Please see the photo. I also had two different rooms, but no view of anything, even with requesting. I upgraded both rooms and still got no view. If I had stayed longer, I would have transferred to another hotel. Breakfast was good, and the service was good. The dinner situation is a bit weird as the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant. You have to order and the restaurant next door will bring your food and you must pay them cash (instead of charging to your room). The hotel is a boutique, but I’m kind of surprised why Amex recommended this hotel, it was nice enough but no real frills, and the sewage smell is enough to make you pass out!…
The major disappointment is about a charge of a service which was never selected nor used. A bit unethical and I could not get proper and were from the staff. What a pity because the hotel (room and location) is really good. Staff rather friendly. Breakfast could be improved.
Love this small charming hotel. Just beautiful! Staff was so kind and helpful. Hotel is very convenient to must see spots. Their breakfast was an amazing way to start each day and the bar served delicious drinks in the evening.
I love this hotel. It is beautiful. The oldest in Italy. Our room was big with frescos from the 18th century. Location is great. Everyone at the staff is amazing. Front desk, restaurant and the barman. The breakfast is delicious and beautifully display.
Outstanding location and amazing luxury in a 500 year old building. Lots of character. Front desk staff particularly Christian, Francesca,Cecilia & Maria Silvia were extremely helpful with meal choices, cabs etc We enjoyed staying here tremendously & would unhesitatingly recommend.
Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of amazing!!!! Lets begin with check in, Cecilia the front desk manager was moving from side to side helping guests with directions and anything that made a guest feel like FAMILY. This theme was prevalent throughout the hotel every service was provided with the sense of family, never have we seen such attention to the smallest of details to make your stay comfortable. For example when we inquired about an item needed from the pharmacy and not sure how to ask in Italian a member of the staff walked us to the farmacia and told the pharmacist what we needed(how many times has this happened to you in a hotel). Rooms were cleaned daily with nightly turndown. Restaurant staff could not be more accommodating. Beautiful hotel interior and as others have said perfect location. We could go on and on but may we suggest you experience this gem for yourselves.…
We were very much impress by the kind hospitality and assistance of Cecillia, who was WONDERFUL! She made our stay one we are happy to remember Thank you Cecillia! The hotel is very well located, clean and beautiful The food was tasty and the whole stay was nice and comfortable
