We found staff to be friendly and helpful.
Only negative comment is that the hotel is situated on a main street so traffic noise could be a problem if your room is at the front.
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Fresh towels and sheets every day and toiletries such as shower gel were provided. I cannot speak highly enough about the hotel everything was on point and it was a delightful stay. Breakfast was perfect, served to you by polite staff, again who couldn't do enough for you. A nice selection of food, everything fresh and spotlessly clean. If you do not want to go into the centre there are a few local restaurants that are very nice. Average price for us in restaurants was 80-90 Euro for a three course meal with wine. The hotel is perfectly placed near the train station, 10 mins to walk, where you can get a train to almost anywhere, we went to Sienna which was delightful, Pisa, which was nice but was as impressed as I thought I would be and Bologna which was lovely. Thank you to all of the staff at Hotel Rapallo days/evening/night they worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable.
The hotel itself is exceptionally well presented. Our room was immaculately clean and cleaned daily (thank you, housekeeping). The bed was comfortable, and the dressing area consisted of large wardrobes, with plenty of room for all your belongings; you will find the mini fridge and safe housed within one of the cabinets. The bathroom has a shower with a shower, which is very powerful, and the water is hot. There is also a hair dryer in the bathroom next to the mirrors (one shaving).
Great location: Roughly a 10 - 25 minute walk to most historical attractions, and the taxi rank is just 2 minutes from the hotel. However, the hotel will arrange a taxi for you if so required.
Overall the best hotel experience; highly recommended. Thank you all at Hotel Rapallo for making our stay so memorable.
This location is quiet, the rooms are clean and just big enough, and the bathrooms are quite spacious. We would absolutely stay here again!
Staff were very friendly, and we were made to feel welcome throughout our stay. We checked in during the evening and had Fuoco Matto (Italian restaurant) recommended to us for dinner, as it was only a few minutes’ walking distance away. We’d highly recommend trying this for yourself!
Our room was relatively small, especially considering the price (although I appreciate that hotels in Florence are not cheap in general). Despite this, it was finished to a good standard with modern decor and most amenities you would expect to find.
One disappointment was that, upon booking, I had included a note to specify that we were staying with Hotel Rapallo (and visiting Florence) for my partner’s birthday. However, there was no acknowledgement of this whatsoever - either in advance of our arrival or during our stay. As such, the day before her birthday I sent an email enquiring about the possibility of a small gesture/card to be left in our room as a surprise, along with querying the cost. I was told that they could arrange a flower bouquet and card for €60, which seemed very expensive. As my partner does not particularly like flowers, I asked whether they could instead provide a slice of cake/candle or similar (as well as the price of this). Unfortunately, this email was completely ignored.
The breakfast was high quality with plenty of options. It needs to be booked the day before (there are half hour slots to choose from), as it can become very busy and when this was the case during our stay, the staff did a good job of handling the rush with some very demanding guests at times. The complimentary coffee and cake in mid-afternoon/early evening was greatly appreciated!
