We absolutely loved the location of this hotel -- we didn't have a car, so this was perfect for us. You were steps away from everything. There is the BEST gelato place literally around the block called Gelato Festival -- it was like visiting 31 flavors only of the best gelato we had while in Italy. Our hotel room was...

We stayed for 4 nights. The locations was wonderful, walking distance to everywhere. Front desk seemed pretty helpful. The breakfast was great, the coffee was a little strange. Our room was on Calzaiuoli Street so we had great entertainment at night by opening the window and watching knock off purses being sold on a bedsheet... police come....bedsheets are pulled up...police...

The location was spectacular. The room was spacious and quiet. The bathroom was small - but I have had smaller in europe. The bed was comfortable. The people at the desk were extremely helpful. I can't wait to go back!

I'm surprised this hotel gets some bad reviews. I thought it was wonderful. Beautiful, clean rooms, great service...and probably the best location you can ask for in Florence. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone...and will try to book it when we're next in Florence.

We stayed at Hotel Calzaiuoli for two nights and absolutely loved it. It is a very charming hotel in a great location; I felt like everything we wanted to visit was no further than 2-3 blocks away. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodated us when we checked in and our room smelled like smoke; they moved us to a...

Just returned from a 4 day trip to Florence and stayed at the Calzaioli Hotel. Can't recommend this hotel enough. Right in the heart of Florence and so close to almost everything of interest. Hotel staff really helpful and the rooms were beautiful. Breakfast was very good and the dining room opened at 7.00am for those wishing to have an...

The hotel is top notch. Rooms are luxurious as are the ammentities. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Florence. Walked everywhere. Great shopping minutes away. The front desk is most helpful, even drove us to the airport. The breakfast room was a delight with many choices and wonderful service. Would definetly stay here again.

W loved our stay here and felt it was the perfect small hotel in a perfect central location. The hotel was beautifully maintained, and the rooms were comfortable, though on the small side as all Italian hotel rooms in this class tend to be. After a horrible experience in Venice, this hotel was a breath of fresh air and we...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
