We arrived late, it was not easy to call them to get the key. Apart from that, everything was great. The flat clean and well organized, the sight from the balcony of the room was picturesque, the location close to the train station, and information about attractions available.

first, upon arrival, they realised that the room we booked (one with a balcony) was taken and wont be avaliable till next day. they gave us another room of much lower class with lots of broken equipment and the only compinsation was that I could smoke in a small balcony by the kitchen. on two mornings we went down for...

First time with a shared bathroom experience. Matias was great at making sure that we were settled in. Accommodations were acceptable and the distance to the train station was close. The only change I would make is to ensure that clean towels are provided each day.

Mathias, the owner, was very kind, helpful and welcoming. The B&B was 5-10min walk from the centre away. The room was big with a balcony, tv and sofa. The whole place was very clean. Cheap (for Florence) and save parking spot. And all that for a very good price. We will go again. Thanks

Didn't expect too much since the room i booked was so cheap. But fortunately it exceeded my expectations, its not a fancy hotel but an old apartment turned B&B but the room given to me was really huge, clean and spacious; with sofa, dining and a balcony. It is also just 5 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella station (Florence's main...

It is pretty much apartment, that turned to be a b&b/hostel. It is about 10 min. walk from the SMN railway station. A bit tricky to find the street. We were moved to the other apartment about 5 min. walk away, probably because we booked private room with private bathroom. Pretty big and clean room, bathroom was relatively big, simple...

Good - Reasonably friendly behaviour. The guy gave us good travel tips - almost made an itinerary for us on a florence map. We could checkin pretty late and that wasn't a problem, unless some other b&b in that area, which I was considering booking. I had read before travelling that it's bit difficult to find that place and hence...

It was very expensive for what we had. It is an old appartment changed in an b&b. The Wifi didn't worked in the room. we had to share a kitchen and a bathroom with other people and they could smoke on balcony so it smelled everywhere. Also we had no service, no towel in the bathroom, i had to ask...

Our room was big and clean plus with private wc. With that price you normally can't find such place to stay in touristic towns. The owner lady was kind and helpful all the time. Location was perfect for both historical center and train station. I would stay again in here.

The personal was so helpful, eventhough we had came a day earlier, they found a place for us. The location is good, so close to the train station and then to the city center. Room was nice and clean, wifi was working. Just minus was that we cannot use a kitchen.

Thank Zachary B

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

“All three rooms were great. One has its private bathroom and the other two share a bathroom. Do not hesitate to take the shared bathroom ones as the bathroom is really spacious and clean and free most of the time.”
