First the pros: This hotel is just one block away from Arno River, and about 10-minute walk to Santa Maria Novella Station. From these, you can have easy access to some good locations in Florence. The staff (at least the guy at the reception) was...More
We only stayed one night and that enough. Bathroom was tiny (not the cleanest) and difficult to actually function with 2 people- water leaked over over the floor during the night so had to use all the towels to keep the floor dry.
We stayed for 1 night at Hotel Magenta. The hotel is very nice, the room spacious, clean an quiet. It is located about 10 minutes from the railway station and 15 minutes from the center of the city, the area felt safe. They also had...More
We stayed there 5 days and really enjoyed the location for seeing Florence. The owner and her staff were very helpful in helping us find great food and interesting sights.
Breakfast was very nice too with a lot of choices.
We would stay there again.
Location is fine which is within walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station and other attractions. The single room is small and the shower is tiny even for Europe standard.
WiFi didn't work even after it was rebooted by the front desk staff.

Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
