We could not believe how central the hotel was , literally 2 mins walk from everything . The room was huge and spotlessly clean . The breakfast was good ( the scrambled egg is superb) and the staff were not only helpful in recommending places to visit and eat , but extremely pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Our...

Staying at Hotel Pendini was the perfect location for navigating around Florence. It is centrally located, very near good restaurants, shops and of course, historical sites. We had a fantastic view overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica. One night (the night of the Vogue fashion event), the noise from the piazza could be heard from our room but it was not...

At first, it was charming to hear classic music coming from the outside of the lively Piazza de la Repubblica. By 1:30 AM, when you heard the same exact song played over and over on the accordion, you started to go bonkers. By the third night, hearing the same song and that you were awake past midnight, you felt like...

I am sorry but I cannot believe this property receives such high reviews. Upon our arrival and discovering this hotel is covered in scaffolding and under construction, we were assigned one of their unremodeled and thoroughly disgusting rooms on the second floor. These rooms are dismal and reek of sewer gases and paint fumes. I immediately requested a different room,...

I was really hesitant to leave a bad review for this hotel..I'd felt so confident it would be one of the best of our trip based on the reviews and a recommendation from another traveler before leaving on our trip. Sadly I feel I cannot leave a better review. First, I want to begin by saying the location and the...

My wife, two children and my mum booked a 'suite' here last week. We had been before (although not in a 'suite'). We needed two bedrooms and some space. Imagine our disappointment, when the suite turned out to be two small bedrooms joined by a small corridor and a small bathroom. In the event I asked to be moved but...

Our four night stay at Hotel Pendini was wonderful! The room was very comfortable and we loved the location, just off Piazza Della Repubblica. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
