It was good place to park to explore historic city of Florence, there is a bus stop near the hotel which takes you to central bus stand. Has free car park. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. No tea coffee making facility though you get daily free bottled water, Breakfast was good, more continental style. Staff are ever so...

Great hotel to be on a business trip or short stay in Florence. Small rooms but cosy snd new bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff. Located near railway station it is close to the historic center and even more - it has a private parking space. As a Golfer I didn't find out yet what the hotel has to do with...

No english speaking channel on TV which for a hotel at this price was not acceptable . The older waitress at breakfast was very rude....every day. However the reception staff were very good and helpful.

Very nice and clean hotel. Great location to Duomo and train station. Very good breakfast. Would highly recommend it. My cousins and I stayed only one night but would go back. Staff was very nice and helpful and directed us to restaurants. Thanks so much.

Fine for a budget holiday. Hotel is a bit dated but suited our needs fine. Has all the essentials. It is about a 20 minute walk to the main attractions. Buffet style breakfast but not alot of seats available.

The first impression of the hotel is as if the owner run out of funds to re-invest into this hotel somewhere in 1960's. Since then no renovations nor repairs has taken place. Rooms are dark, smelly, unpleasant. Air conditioning is making a sputtering nice, but not able to cool the room. The only hotel ever where even toilet paper and...

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel as a family of 3. A clean but yet an average hotel due; POSITIVES; 1- Car park (although our slot was almost the last one but we were not without) 2- Clean hotel with nice and new bathroom but slightly older furniture 3- Astonishingly smooth and silent A/C system (italian made I specifically checked)...

When we arrived at our room, we quickly realized we were surrounded by Mosquitos flying all over. My husband started killing them one by one and ended up killing over 10. When looking closer, we realized this was not the first instance of the problem given there were bug guts smeared on the walls. (I have included just a few...

The furniture is very old. The hotel smells of wood. Cleanliness is below average. Employees at the reception are not welcoming. Meals in the dining room are very close to each other. The internet was not working.

A group of 40 of us stayed here for the event Piti filiati, everything was within walking distance. Easy and accessible, only 1 room key though. Am with 4 of us in one room it was difficult to figure out who was going to be back in the room first. Bathroom Facilities were good, could do with a extracted fan...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
