Florence is such a beautiful city, rich with history....but you probably don't want your hotel room to look like it's decor hasn't changed in the last 100 years.
Incredibly outdated, and pretty dirty make this hotel a no go.
Not to mention the shower flooded...More
Super budget hotel. Can't decide if it's worth 1 or 2 stars. Let start with the lobby, toilets didn't flush, upholstery on sofa's with cheap microfiber absorbing all the perspiration from the loads of visitors on a humid summer day. Extremely tiny elevator resulting in...More
The hotel is located close to the railway station and public transport, restaurants and places of interest, we stayed for 3 nights close to hop on hop off bus stop as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms average but our room had a great...More
Great hotel for a great value! Located close to the city centre and close to the railway station, also many restaurants, bars, shops nearby. Neat rooms, good service, breakfast, friendly and helpful staff! Loved staying there!
The Byron is very close to Santa Maria Novella station and is easy to find. We arrived there before 12 noon and were pleasantly surprised to get a room right away. The staff at the reception were not overly friendly, but the chack in was...More

Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

My wife and I booked the Bryon for 1 night only because it's within steps from the Florence bus station and it has a 3-star rating. We were very disappointed. Itstarted as we entered the elevator and looked at the dirty, old, worn & torn carpet. Then, when we reached our floor more of the same with the dirty carpet which continued into our tiny room and a very disappointing barhroom as I described in my TripAdvisor review. If you want to enjoy Florence in the comfort of a genuine 3-Star hotel (keep in mind the star ratings are very different from USA's star ratings - book elsewhere.
