Our third stay at Berchielli and the service and accommodations remain top notch. The breakfast is comprehensive and a relaxing way to start a day of non-stop art, architecture, history, culture, gastronomy and last but very much not least--wine. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a 2 bathroom loft which was such a lovely treat. The staff running the desk are wonderful at their jobs. There was a taxi strike during our stay and they front desk was very helpful in a tough situation. The location absolutely cannot be beat and the prices are a bargain.
The hotel was in a great location for walking to the main attractions. Hotel room was clean, breakfast was really good. The Aircon in the room was pathetic unfortunately, meant we didn't sleep to well in the summer heat. The bathroom was pretty dated but clean. WiFi was poor in the rooms too, if you like to search the best restaurants and buy last minute tickets for things WiFi is good to have.
This is an excellent hotel. Literally a hidden gem overlooking the Arno and 1 minute from Ponte Vecchio. It is elegant and charming in the very best sense of the word: ornate, marble-clad, thick carpeted, etc., etc. The staff throughout is polite and willing to bend over backward to please. I don't think there's parking if you are driving, but that didn't affect us. The room we had was fabulous. It was a couple floors above the street with a magnificent view of the Arno and Ponte Vecchio--absolutely as promoted. The bed and bathroom were modern and comfortable. Housekeeping service was excellent. The AC delivered even though we were drawn to open the windows (shutters on both sides--for a very dark room to sleep in) and stand in awe of the history just outside the hotel. The location is brilliant. Walk a couple blocks along the river one way and you're at Ponte Vecchio with its shopping and attractions. A block or two beyond that and you're at Palazzo Vecchio and The Uffizi Gallery. Turn and head up the street away from the River and in 5 minutes you'll be at the Medici Palace; alternatively, walk the other direction over Ponte Vecchio and you're in front of the Pitti Palace. (Man, those Medici knew how to live...) Go the other direction from the hotel--i.e. away from Ponte Vecchio and in 2 blocks you are at the river-end of the "Rodeo Drive" of Florence. I could go on. Suffice to say it was the highlight hotel of a 3-week trip through Italy.…
Wonderful location on the river near Ponte Vecchia. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast selections very good and run impecably by the staff. Staff at front desk all very efficient and friendly. If I came back to Florence I would stay here again without hesitation.
This is a beautiful hotel. Only drawback was what to do with the car on arrival. Call the hotel and ask them exactly what to do. They take it and park it but you must set a rendezvous point. Our room was spacious and beautiful. We had a view of the Pont Vecchio that, in the early morning, took your breath away. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Location a half block from the Pont Vecchio can’t be beat. Staff really friendly. We paid in 2020 for a non-cancelable booking, canceled due to covid, booked in 2021, had to cancel again, and they accepted our payment for the 2022 trip in June 2022. They’re there to serve you.
This Hotel is very good very clean and tidy ,great location for sightseeing and restaurants ,they say if it is your first time in Florence you should have a room with a view well we certainly did opening the shutters first thing in the morning overlooking the Arno people walking canoeists on the water and a great view of the Ponte Vecchio bridge ,this Hotel had it all for me and partner. Management should be very proud of themselves such a lovely place Highly Recommended.
4 couples stayed 4 days and enjoyed lovely accommodations & top service from the front desk! Breakfasts were included & were tasty with options galore! We enjoyed the proximity to the Ponte Vecchio, walking was easy to both Oltrarno and all sites! Restaurant recommendations and extra efforts from the staff made our visit special!
Great hotel right on the Arno; easy walk to everything. Wonderful charming small bar, and Maximillian the bartender had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. Nice that they have rooms for single travelers; we were two women traveling together who didn't want to share a room.
We had a relaxing stay here. The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good offering a range of options. The hotel has a great position so close to ponte Vecchio and in walking distance of all the main attractions. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend.
Nothing particularly good or bad to say about it. Location, room and breakfast are adequate and the staff do what they are asked t0. If I had to I would stay again but it will never be high on my list of preferred Florence hotels. In a word, average, so 3 points from me here.
