Should have spent 3 nights here from 25/03/15-28/03/15, but on arrival there was a 'technical issue' with our deluxe room and we were transferred to the 5 star sister hotel Bernini Palace for our 1st night. Not that we minded, as it was beautiful as this hotel. They put us in a taxi with our luggage and off we went...

My wife and I together with an elderly friend stayed here last week and enjoyed the experience. Unobtrusive service, spotlessly clean with great rooms and breakfast. Restaurant was disappointing as we were served cold food over a long and drawn out evening. More style than substance - not good, but they were very nice about it when we pointed it...

We stayed at the hotel for only 2 nights. The room was small but spotless and incredibly comfortable with excellent facilities. We had no view unfortunately which was initially disappointing but we weren't in the room that much so not a massive problem. The Elisabetta Restaurant was a lovely experience, a bit on the pricey side but well worth the...

We stayed 4 nights this last week. I booked directly with the hotel and it was easy and helpful. The location is just perfect. Less than a 10 minute walk to all the main sights. Duomo less than 5 minutes. Negatives first : It was fairly warm and they do not switch on the air-conditioning until April. At first we...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
