Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in years. And not cheap! The room was so beat up and dirty…huge brown spots in the shower, massive chunks of wood chipped off the doors and closet, outlets that didn’t work. The room was also tiny even though I paid for an upper category room—can only imagine what the lower category rooms looked like. The staff was not accommodating. When we checked in, we called ahead to ensure they had valet to get our car. What they neglected to tell us was that the garage where they park the cars CLOSES and is inaccessible from midnight to 7am. We had an 8am flight and so needed our car at 6am. Thank god my friend suggested we call the front desk the night before to make sure they would have it down. I have never had to do that before and certainly if I did, I would hope a hotel would tell me instead of leaving me helpless!! There are many great hotels in the Florence, this is not one of them. Portrait and Lungarno (the sister hotels of this one) should be ashamed to be associated with such a poorly maintained place

Prepaid for a rooftop room which was triple the price of standard room - upon arrival they had no roof top rooms and stuck me in a standard room, making poor excuses - hotel management could care less and offered empty promises of correcting issues - I honestly feel like I have dealt with thieves - there are more reputable hotels in Florence and I highly advise to avoid this one

We had stayed at this hotel 6 years ago and we enjoyed the location, just 1/2 block from the Ponte Vecchio. We decided to book this hotel again despite of the negative reviews we read most recently. The hotel is still nice, elegant but no pretentious, modern, and can not beat the location. We did the room and breakfast. The breakfast is not very good. They primarily have pastries, hard boiled egg, breads, fruit, yogurt. Service to get coffe at your table is slow. The coffee was only warm. They do not offer warm items. Nothing special. Even the pastries are not very good or fresh. The hotel service was terrible. We had a leak from our air conditioning unit and talked to the front desk. It took them hours to send someone to have it fixed. The front desk woman was unresponsive and unapologetic. The highlight of the hotel was the doorman! They were all very nice and provided good service when we needed a cab. Will never stay in this hotel again.

Loved this hotel! You’d be hard pressed to find a better location in Florence, minutes away from shops, museums, and Ponte Vecchio. Only rub is it’s a bit far from transportation but cabs were easy to get from the train station. Really nice staff there to help with anything we needed on our 4 night stay. Most comfortable beds I slept in on our trip, and the rest of the room was well appointed as well. Breakfast was nothing special (we had it included in our rate and it was fine, but given it’s 30+ euros if you do it a la carte I’d probably skip it). This hotel is part of the Lungarno collection along with a couple others, and I’d highly recommend checking out the Terrazo rooftop bar at the Continentale and the Cafe Del Orro at the Portrait hotel (all part of the same collection and conveniently share a billing system).

A lovely hotel within walking distance of all the tourist activities in Florence. It is literally steps from the Ponte Vecchio. The breakfast buffet was fresh and had a terrific variety of offerings. It was served in the library, which was well appointed and a nice atmosphere. The front desk staff was so helpful in making dinner reservations for two nights and even adjusting the temperature in our room. The room was fine, nothing fancy but the bed was very comfortable.

Stayed for three nights in this hotel. Brilliant location and within easy walking of all of Florences major attractions. We had a classic double room which overlooked an internal courtyard which meant it was very quiet which suited us well even though we felt the room was a little small. Breakfast was good quality but we saw no hot options available. Staff friendly and helpful. The outdoor terrace was a bonus where you could sit and have a drink after a long day sightseeing. The hotel also supplied a discount card for various restaurants and bars including the terrace.

While in Florence we were attending a wedding and the staff was so attentive to our every need - from pressing our wedding attire to giving us recommendations on what to do during our downtime - I highly recommend it! Plus the location cannot be beat, just off the beaten path but near everything! And the breakfast was delicious while the rooms were kept cool for a great night's sleep!

The hotel is located bang on the entrance to Ponte Vicchio and a 2 minute walk to the Uffizzi museum. Every major tourist attraction is within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms are reasonably sized compared to other hotels in central Florence and the staff is multi-lingual, speak English and are EXTREMELY helpful in dealing quickly and pro-actively with all requests. The breakfast buffet has a very wide choice and their table service friendly and quick. Special thanks to the front desk staff and Salvatore for all the help they gave us in everything......especially in expediting delivery of our undelivered checked-in baggage from the airport to the hotel. Will stay at no other hotel than Gallery Hotel Art on our next trip to Florence! Thank you all at Gallery Hotel Art for a super 8 day stay in August 2022!

Location is excellent, it is only about 800m from Florence train station, and can walk to many attractions. Hotel staffs are very helpful to answer any questions and provide advices and support. Room is decent size and relatively new. Highly recommend to stay in this hotel if is for vacation.

We are very acquainted with Firenze. My wife and I met there in 2014 and decided to take a trip back there. Florence itself is incredible, of course. The hotel itself, the architecture, the design, the art, and last but not least, the location is top notch. Location. Location. Location. Each time we walked into the room the bed was made with new towels. All that said, we felt the the front desk was extremely unaccommodating and consistently told us “sorry it’s impossible”. Not the type of attitude and service you’d like to have on a vacation. Quite frankly, they lie and tell you want you want to hear in the moment. We witnessed it ourselves and with other guests. We were guaranteed too notch “vip service” and upgrade and were left off with a small room with a window facing a wall. Our departure to the train station… don’t ask. They simply do not care. Coming from the US hospitality has some standard for a 4 start hotel. The attitude was gross. However, the breakfast was nice and bellhop was very kind. Tips to waiters and bellhop.
