Starting on a positive the location is excellent 2 mins walk from the uffizi gallery and duomo. The rooms were small but the bed was very comfortable. However I had to take a cold shower 3 out of my 5 day stay, when I asked at reception I was informed it would be fixed the next morning which it was but...

Quaint, great location, near Duomo. Comfy bed. Clean. Very courteous front desk [Fanny] was especially helpful. Decor keeps an old world feel combined with modern comforts. I enjoyed the art along the hallways. The breakfast offered a good variety.

Great location 150 yards from Il Duomo. The Hotel itself was clean but you felt like you were in a dorm room. The breakfast was good. Ben was very helpful but the rest of the staff was not much help. The price was mid range about $170 a night for an old building( I guess they all are) with no...

Only stayed here overnight and was pleased with the service. Receptionist was very nice and the location is perfect! Breakfast was also good. The room was okay--a/c working, spacious room (we were only two but our room was good for three) and towels were provided. Overall, highly recommended hotel.

When we found the hotel entrance in-between the Disney store and another shop it did not look promising. However we caught the lift to the third floor and went to reception. We arrived 90 mins before check in time but the receptionist said we were welcome to leave our cases in a room whilst the bedroom was serviced and go...

We had originally booked another hotel back in September last year but for some reason with 6 weeks to go they reneged on the booking and we booked into the Hotel Maxim. We were a bit apprehensive but it turned out well for us as it is in a great location and included breakfast which the other one hadn't. It's...

Don't go. Just don't go. Only plus was the friendly receptionist. Awful awful awful. Hot. No proper air con. It is good for back packing? Not cheap either. Good location. They didn't sort out a broken light.

This hotel is very basic, but close to everything and easy access from the train station. You can get to all the main sites within 10 minutes. The staff is very nice and they stored our luggage for us. The breakfast is great! This was our second time staying here because of the easy access to everywhere.

We were a family of 8, 6 children ranging in age from 7-18. We had 2 rooms which were spacious enough and had sufficient bathrooms. We were more than pleased with the location, value, size of rooms and cleanliness. It is important to remember that the hotel is in an old building so the rooms are not perfectly square nor...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
