The positives: the hotel has a beautiful garden and pool, which our room faced. The negatives: visibly dirty carpets immediately after entering the hotel, strong moldy/musty smell in the hallways (5th floor), dated room (ours had very scratched laminate wood flooring) with bathrooms which look partially updated. This is not a 5 star property and we were surprised that the property meets the standards to remain part of Marriott's Autograph Collection.
Excellent hotel. Very high level, very comfortable, very nice pool and garden, personnel extremely kind. One of the best hotels in florence. Garage available. In the center but without noise. The breakfast is excellent. To be recommended
This is my second visit and my second review. When I say it’s five stars, I truly mean it. The general manager is not someone who sits behind a desk but rather an individual who is out and about meeting and greeting his clients. Mr. Pane is a true Testament to great hospitality. I speak very little Italian but I do understand a great deal and as such, the desk staff has been amazingly complementary. When entering the property we have been greeted with smiles and a warm friendly “hug“. There are many other properties in the city which are newer and perhaps more well appointed, but this place feels like home. When I return to Florence there is no doubt that the Sina Villa Medici will be my second home. Thanks to all of the staff including Paulo, Federica, Sabrina, and Neri. Vi amiamo tutti!…
Room overlooking the garden met all our expectations, we had researched the hotel and hoped to eat in the restaurant with a few cocktails. We reserved a table for and stood with others waiting for our table. The queue grew longer as we were totally ignored by the restaurant staff . After waiting for 20 minutes for our table I went to reception to complain , the response was that "we are very busy" - the restaurant was not busy! We left the hotel and ate at a nearby restaurant which was wonderful and we didn't waste our money on the 20 euro cocktails.
A bit outside the main tourist area, but an easy enjoyable walk to all the sites. Delicious breakfast in the lovely restaurant. The employees here are the best!!! They will help you with anything and everything! Short walk to train station. I highly recommend this hotel!
First day in Florence with family, and this was a fantastic hotel to stay at. A short walk from the heart of the town, but with a real feel of escapism with the beautiful garden and pool, especially as the temperature hit around 27C whilst there. Service throughout was excellent and friendly, rooms were beautiful, overlooking the gardens. We asked for, and they provided, proper inter-connecting rooms which is something many hotels seem to struggle with. Bar and cocktails were great (expensive but great). To other guests' comments, the WiFi wasn't fantastic but good enough for the kids to be able to stream video and whilst it would have been nice to have the water in the room replaced, it was hardly the end of the world. Would definitely recommend
We have stayed at several hotels during our recent trip to Italy but the one that stood out on top was Sina Villa Medici in Firenze. In addition to their luxurious lobby, food, amenities and great location, our room was very clean, comfortable and generous in size. The staff we encountered from the valet to the concierge to the waiters were delightful and always eager to help. We are so grateful to Paulo, Simone, Federico, Marco, Sabrina, Lorenzo and everyone else for an amazing experience! Thank you all, you made us feel like family!!! And to the General Manager, Fernando Pane. Never have we met a more gracious, generous and accommodating true gentleman… a host with the most! From the moment we walked into Villa Medici to day we left, he and his team went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We can’t thank you enough! We look forward to staying with you all again soon! Grazie Mille!!! Best wishes, Lorenzo & Adalid…
We are currently staying at this hotel. Great location (a bit away from everything yet still walkable to the main attractions - Duomo etc). A couple of big issues for me: First, the internet speed is horrible (I just can't believe that a hotel like this would not try and fix this). Secondly, 2 bottles of water were left in our room on arrival. On second day, they didn't leave any water so I phoned the front desk and they said that we only get 2 bottles of complimentary water per stay - and that we needed to purchase any additional bottles of water. I am a Titanium Elite and have never experienced this in any other hotel. Even the lowest category hotels leave a couple bottles of water in the room everyday.
This hotel was great. Staff were very attentive. The lobby and pool and restaurant were really nice. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were very spacious. The location is tucked away in a quieter area, which is nice to escape all the crowds. Yet it’s still walkable to all the great sites and restaurants.
The hotel is in a very good location for walking and the staffers are very well trained with professional skills for everything. The breakfast and room, lobby are extremely well. The only thing they could improve is the wifi speed. The speed was about 3–10 mbps and it’s hard to check the email sometimes. The hotel said they can do nothing to increase the wifi speed but the speed was much faster in other hotels in Italy. Please do something to increase the wifi speed for your future guests. Overall it’s very lovely hotel and highly recommended.
