This spa-like hotel is just wonderful, amazing, romantic and lovely! It has it all, and a dash extra. Lovely rooms, beautiful surroundings, pool, garden, patio, outdoor restaurant, great instagram-spots, superb food, and not to mention super staff! However, it is a bit far from downtown, but for us, that was just a positive thing, after spending one week in the middle of the city crowd. Also, there is shuttle-busses picking you up for p small fee, so the location was not at all a problem. Rather the opposite. Would I recommend it? YES!!! This is simply the best hotel!
What a wonderful holiday! We are so glad we stayed a little out of Florence and we got the best of both worlds with this gorgeous hotel. It was lovely and quiet, peaceful setting with a decent size pool. Lovely courtyard and a nice restaurant on site where we could sit out looking over the river for dinner drinks and breakfast. The shuttle takes you into Florence we got it there and back most days but for days we didn’t make the last shuttle we got a taxi for £20. We walked once I wouldn’t recommend that. There’s some lovely restaurants and bars nearby within walking distance, all local and brilliant. The room was nice and comfortable with great views. The staff were all lovely. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.
I’ve used all my adjectives before, sorry to repeat myself, but it was a blissful stay. I wanted a place away from the hustle of Florence but not too far, I also wanted to be able to enjoy the beautiful weather sitting by a pool. I was certainly not disappointed, already when I told the cab driver where I was going he spontaneously said “You will absolutely love there, it’s a beautiful hotel” he was right. The first bedroom assigned to me was adorable and with a terrace, but no view. I decided to upgrade to a river view and I could not be happier. I actually feel I’m in a boat since my corner room has a direct view into the water. Bed is delicious, and high ceilings is very much appreciated. The bathroom is gorgeous with a jet bathtub and rain shower, also with the view of the river. I’m sitting here right now writing my review, I could not be more pleased to enjoy my last day looking at my view before going to the amazing seafood restaurant a short walk from the hotel. I should point out the the front desk ladies were absolutely lovely, Sofia and Marina, will do everything to enhance your stay, including helping me make my move tomorrow to their sister hotel Plaza Lucchesi in town. The taxi ride is around 20 euros, but they do have a shuttle that picks you up in the morning to take you to Firenze. Breakfast is quite varied and Hilária will be sure to fetch your coffee in wherever way you desire. The pool area was absolutely wonderful and made my stay complete. The history of the Mulino is quite interesting, and the transformation into a hotel beautifully and tastefully done. Artwork and is everywhere throughout the property including the lovely paintings in my room. Bravo!…
The view from our room was gorgeous, we did not see much of the rest of the property as it was fairly cold outside. Definitely slow season as not many guests, but the staff was always available and very pleasant. The rooms are clean and quaint, the bathroom quite large with a shower head that will feel like a downpour 😀 The breakfast is included and was very good along with the cappuccinos they made. There was not a shuttle due to the time of year, but we received a taxi voucher to and from their other Hotel Lucchesi. It’s about a 15 min drive and from there you can walk into the city. It’s a beautiful hotel if you are looking to stay out of the city.
Well situated, on the banks of the Rover Arno, to play tennis at Match Ball Firenze Tennis club with us, then wander into the centre of Florence to visit the many iconic buildings and museums.....Parking also available!
Lovely hotel but restaurant let’s it down. Very limited menu and food was not consistent. Tiramisu was plain biscuits with cream and chocolate on top - no coffee or liquor so very dry. Having eaten in restaurant on Sunday by Thursday bread was stale. Lamb leg was dry and served on a cake stand which made eating difficult. Too much attention to presentation and not taste.
When we decided to stay for 2 weeks in Florence we looked for a hotel with a pool so we could spend days chilling in between days visiting Florence and other attractions in the area. Hotel Mulino ticked all the boxes for us. It is for us within walking distance of the city along the very pleasant riverbank paths, but realise this is not the case for everyone. The hotel does offer a courtesy bus 3 times in the morning and 3 late afternoon the last returning at 7.30. Taxis are a option but not particularly cheap. We mostly took the bus in and walked back if we stayed out later than 7.30. The Hotel Mulino itself is located right on the river; meals we took at the hotel were taken outside overlooking the river, a really wonderful location. The staff are very helpful and friendly they also helped us booking trips and tickets and were brilliant throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble they are all a great credit to the Hotel. The room was very good it had an attractive vaulted brick ceiling with a comfortable bed, we requested a room with a bath and this was granted. The air con worked well during the rather hot weather and was not too noisy. The breakfast had a good choice of foods to suit all tastes, the scrambled eggs were excellent, strange to comment on maybe but true non the less. The restaurant staff again were most pleasant and helpful. We only ate here on two evenings, the food was very good but the menu didn't change in the 2 weeks we were there, but most people only stayed a few days so wouldn't be a problem. The pool is very good and never too busy with towels provided, but do bring some good mosquito repellent, as they can be a problem as you are next to the river. The hotel provides a mobile phone to each room something we've not come across before, which we took with us on our days out it has contacts and info on it. This came in useful especially after one-day trip when my phone had died on me. We would have no hesitation in choosing to stay here again, a wonderful 2 weeks in an oasis just outside the hustle and bustle of Florence A very big thank you to everyone who made our holiday so special.…
I booked this hotel in October 2018, with the intention of staying in August 2019 The hotel didn't require payment before our stay, but I contacted the hotel a few months before our intended stay and arranged full payment with them. I also spoke to them several times over the following months about transport, restaurants and a couple of room queries 3 weeks before the intended stay I booked our places on the hotel shuttle bus. 2 weeks before our stay I got an email to tell me that one night of our two night stay was being cancelled. I was told that the hotel was hosting an important wedding...well, as with everything, perception is objective. This wedding was not important to me, what was important to me was that the hotel I had booked 10 months prior, the reason we were actually visiting Florence (I was intending to visit the 'First Dates' hotel but opted for the Mulino instead) was cancelling on me 2 weeks before we flew out there Weddings don't just get booked on the last minute, which means this hotel had known about the booking for quite some time. Rather than admit they could not honour my booking, they decided to leave it until the last minute, most likely to make sure they didn't lose my money - they offered me two different 'sister' hotels as an alternative. Luckily there were some much better alternatives still available in the city and I wasn't stuck staying in a hotel I didn't want to be in. I asked for a refund and took my money elsewhere. I would advise that you do the same.…
This hotel was a deight, from the winding drive to the stunning courtyard and delightful room over looking the mill and the River, beautiful gardens, flowers everywher it was a feast for the eyes. The staff were extremely helpful and polite, special call out to Max and Dorian, thank you both. Our room was extremely comfortable, great towels, comfy bed and plenty of pillows. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful views of the river, complimentary bus into Florence and return. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be back for another visit.
We recently stayed at Mulino di Firenze for a week with our son, daughter-in-law and our 10 year old grandson. The hotel is a short 15 minute shuttle ride (provided free of charge) from the historic area of Florence. There is a beautiful pool that provided a refreshing break because we were there during a heat wave. The rooms are lovely. The mattresses are very comfortable and linens were luxurious. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food in the restaurant was very good and dining al fresco by the Arno was charming. The hotel is not overly formal and is a perfect place to travel with families.
