Giancarlo is a really awesome guy - from Sicily but knows Florence very well. He gave us some fantastic places to eat, served a great breakfast, and has a wonderful property that is quiet and comfortable. One deli/wine spot near San Lorenzo that he recommended is one of the best places I've ever eating - and I've tried a lot...

I recently traveled through a number of European cities staying in a number of hostels/B&Bs, and this was the most comfortable and accommodating of all, thanks to the exceptional care and dedication of Giancarlo. I should note that this is not a traditional hostel where you share a room with a number of young travelers, but more of a low-key...

It felt like a home-away-from-home. The breakfast was thoughtfully offered with a variety of local breads, delicious tea, fruit, etc. Giancarlo was extremely nice and offered great restaurant recommendations. While I was there for only one night, it was quite clean and comfortable, very close to the main train station and a 10-15 walk to the Duomo.

My husband and I stayed one night in Giancarlo's B & B and were entirely pleased with the experience. Giancarlo is gracious and helpful, even insisting on carrying our bags up and down the stairs. He suggested an excellent restaurant and, since our time was limited, efficiently guided us to the churches we wished to investigate for my research. This...

Overall I was very pleased with my stay at Il Cielo and the host Giancarlo. I am a female and stayed one night in Florence alone and I felt very safe at this B&B. Giancarlo was extremely nice and helpful, the price was great, and the location was fantastic. However, it was awkward for us because our bathroom was very small, and the toilet was shared with another room and down the hall. Ultimately, I would say that it was worth it for the price. The building had a very nice feel, and the...
