This boutique hotel has excellent service. A wide array of breakfast foods and complimentary champagne at Happy hour with treats. We did upgrade to a tower room and it was fabulous with the wooden beams in the ceiling and more space. The fruit basket and water was a welcome addition. If you need a gym to exercise, this hotel does...

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Florence where we were visiting our son studying abroad at the Lorenzo de' Medici Institute. Golden Tower is an upscale boutique hotel in the center of the high-end shopping district in Florence near the Piazza della Repubblica. The area is extremely safe with many people around at any time of day. Florence is...

My husband and I stayed in the suite with a jacuzzi for the last part of our honeymoon. The staff brought us up champagne to celebrate upon arrival... of which we enjoyed in the hot tub with a nice little view of Florence. It rained most of our trip and we were always excited to get back to the room...

The staff was so kind and willing to help, from the reception to the dining room. The location was incredible, just a few minutes walk to all directions and stuff to see! The hotel facilities themselves are beautiful, the rooms, the dining room and of course the spa. Will come back next time we're in Florence for sure!

It is difficult to fault this hotel. It is an excellent hotel in a wonderful location. It feels small and intimate but the facilities are great. The Reception staff could not be more helpful, with advice on where to visit, eat etc. They booked some tickets for us and advised us to book the Duomo ourselves to save queuing. Our...

OK, not what we would call 5star in UK but a great hotel nonetheless. Best staff I have met in a very long time. Immensely helpful and eager to make your stay the best it can be. I'll stay here again next visit to Florence.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
