I see some reviewers have an issue with the staff at this hotel not speaking English. Unfortunately, they might have an issue with Florence, in general. The people in Florence speak Italian, unless you go to the Uffizi or other touristy places. A chain hotel might be better for those that expect English. When I studied in Florence I vowed...

Staff was not a very warm and helpful. Breakfast was kind of poor. But the place was good and the room too. WiFi was included, TV, refrigerator. Ones in a day they were changing trash bags and thats it.

The location was excellent, near to every sight. Our room was very clean and big enough for two. Having a desk a big wardrobe and a big bathroom. The breakfast was good enough with varieties. Yes the reception they didn't speak English, but it is pretty easy to understand each other. The owners watch everything, but this can be the...

The rooms was clear and nice, but there was no room service. We stayed 3 days and room haven't been cleaned. Breakfast was poor and there was a filling that everything is counted. But the place of hotel was really good, near to Duomo.

We booked two double rooms in this hotel for two nights. The only person in the reception we ever saw was a very old man with not a word of english or any other language but italian. We had a problem with the shower. Another couple had a problem with the towels, and so on, but no, the man was...

The Staff don't speak English, nor even attempt to understand you. It was an hour wait to check in despite it being planned, whilst the hotel keep your passports for the duration of the stay. Save yourself the money and time and go somewhere else, you'll be far better off.

I arrived unplanned at the hotel, having booked at Booking.com due to an emergency. Initially the hotel staff were not sure what the paper I was brandishing was all about, but eventually found somebody to interpret. Success. The room was on the second floor, quiet, overlooking an alley, with a lovely painted ceiling. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom. I thought the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
