Simple hotel, but very pleasant by the sea. Hotel built on top of the rocks with a leisure area with private beach and swimming pool with wonderful views. Incredible view of the Etna volcano. Accommodations and services without luxury. Located far from the center. Car is required, there is paid parking at the hotel.
We had an great stay at the hotel. The location is perfect, with beautiful views from all aspects of the hotel. The pool and beach entered through the cliff are unique and such a great feature. The breakfast choice was excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful especially Salvatore in the restaurant. My only slightly negative comment would be that the hotel shuttle bus to the town doesn't drop you that close to centre, which isn't ideal for those who are not as good on their feet of if you are wearing high healed shoes. However, we would definitely recommend the hotel and return.
We recently stayed here for our anniversary, and had a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful, and the location is stunning. Our room had a balcony over-looking the bay with Etna in the distance, and we never tired of the view. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The only issue (and this is what drops the review from 5* to 4*) was the NOISE. We were in room 303, which is below the restaurant. This meant a great deal of noise from trolleys etc above, loud enough to wake me even though I wear ear-plugs. It would go on all evening, sometimes quite late, and start by 7:30am, thwarting every attempt I made at a lie-in (something I seldom get at home, so look forward to on holiday). The worst occasion went on past mid-night and started again around 6:30am. So while the beds are incredibly comfortable, I didn’t actually get much sleep. I recommend requesting a room elsewhere in the building. Breakfast is good, with gorgeous views of the sea and Etna if you sit outside (but outside you will find yourself harassed by wasps). There is the usual fare of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, breads, hot items, etc, an impressive array of pastries, and also the Sicilian speciality of brioche and granita, all good quality. The only thing which lets it down is the drinks. The juice was mediocre, and the coffee frankly poor. It just comes from a machine, producing rather watery espresso. I love good espresso, and expected better from a 4* hotel in Italy. The bar was another highlight for us. Again, gorgeous views to be had, friendly staff, and some good food options available - I highly recommend the excellent gelato! It also gets top-marks for the wifi - excellent, high-speed, pretty much everywhere, even the beach! The views however do come at a price. The hotel is pretty far from Taormina itself, so you can’t just ‘nip back’ between sight-seeing and dinner if you’re eating in town. You can walk, but according to Google it’s a good 30 minutes, and it’s a pretty steep incline up a narrow winding road with no proper pavement, we certainly didn’t fancy it! There is a shuttle bus from the hotel, but it only runs a few times a day, and due to limited seats must be booked in advance, and they do get booked out. I would like to encourage the hotel to run the bus more frequently, say once an hour to help with this (in particular a bus back at 9pm or 9:30pm would be helpful). If you can’t get the bus, and don’t want to walk, your other option is a taxi, which will cost about €15 each way. This is what we did when either the bus was full, or the times didn’t work for us. This wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but it did add to the cost of the week, so is something to keep in mind. Overall we loved our stay, but would say the hotel needs to improve the shuttle service, and reduce the noise for rooms below the restaurant (and better coffee wouldn’t hurt).…
Upon arrival to check in, I knew I was in a great place. The place to be in Taormina Everything is perfect in this hotel, breakfast with the ETNA view, quality of food, restaurants, rooms: we had a sea view nice room ready at 10:30am !!!Amazing customer service, everyone with a smile, ready to serve you. Smiles all over, welcoming attitude. Like others have said, great pool and astonishing private beach with a tunnel. Park in the street next to the hotel is safe and free, their parking is expensive and no need for that. The only thing I would add is to have the FREE shuttle in to Taormina center more often, there are only 8 trips/day and they get full, since you have to reserve same day early in the morning. The public bus by the way is one euro. Don't take taxi is a rip off, we never did. Would go back…
Husband and I have just returned from a week’s stay in this hotel. What a fantastic break and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel facilities! The private beach and the hotel pool and further ocean swimming points are absolutely stunning! Loads of sunbeds, parasols, zero anxiety….. Bring your swim shoes for the pebbles and definitely bring your snorkelling equipment or even just a decent pair of goggles. There are shoals of fish, it’s mesmerising. Food in the hotel is lovely. Nothing more to add than the other rave reviews. We ate at The Grand Bleu twice - had the swordfish twice as well because it was a crime not to! Husband enjoyed the amberjack and
This hotel is a little dated but don’t be fooled. After a day, you don’t even notice. It is run very efficiently in all depts from my observations over a 2 weeks stay here. Location is great with a free bus up to the town and the panoramic views of Etna are stunning at breakfast. What makes this hotel the perfect stay is the consistency of staff behaviour. They are so helpful and friendly in all depts and at all times. They didn’t need to; be but they were. I was so sad to leave and I think i will miss that staff more than the place. Shout out to Grazia, Marco, Giacamo #dreamteam and the beach bar youngsters! Guiseppe and the restaurant gang. The amazing Salvos who effected a rescue to help a passing boat. #heros. Can’t recommend enough. See for yourself.
Wonderful views of Mount Etna eating alfresco breakfast always delicious and varied choices available. Reception staff extremely obliging and polite. Shuttle bus into Taormina essential for evening dining, all provided. Fabulous private beach on lower ground floor. Visitors definitely need to be able to have no mobility problems as a moderate amount of walking is involved. Rooms with a sea view absolutely stunning.
My husband and I stayed here for two days and absolutely loved it. It was like staying in a fancy resort. The caves, the pool, and private beach were gorgeous. The restaurant was amazing. The overall service was fantastic. The rooms were large with a great view. I highly recommend!
We stayed in Capo Taormina hotel for a couple of weeks. It is conveniently located with a nice view from each and every room. Outstanding service, particularly Grazia, who waited for us at the bar, both on the beach and the evening terrace one. She was always in good mood, very helpful, attentive, friendly and just nice. The whole stay was a pure pleasure and Grazia made it unforgettable. We shall surely come back.
Our stay here was perfect the rooms are newly renovated and it was just wonderful. Lunch at the beach was perfect the food was amazing and has been for the past few years. A very big highlight of our experience here with the waitress Grazia who attended our every need in the lunch Bar and in the evening bar up with the wonderful view of Etna. She was amazing and she made sure we had a wonderful time here and that we were always happy and always had a beautiful smile and I can honestly say that she did an amazing job. One area of improvement for the hotel could be the timing of the shuttle down from Taormina to the hotel as going down only 1.5 hours after going up is too little time and 3.5 hours a bit too much time after going up. A shuttle down at 21:15/21:30 would be perfect. This is just a suggestion as the taxi down is very cheap anyway (20€).…
