Like a previous reviewer, I also had trouble with the noise from the outside of the hotel. We were on the 1st floor (1 floor above street level) and our window was right next to the street corner where cars/scooters slowed and then revved up again and where people sometimes stopped to chat at night. On the weekday mornings we...

We stayed in a " junior suite" with views over small courtyard at back and over a small square with the sea beyond at the front. Our room was very well furnished, proportioned and decorated. It also had a good sized bathroom. From the moment of our arrival we knew we had made an excellent choice. The hotel made a...

First room was like a tomb - from second floor, on entry to room descended 10/15 steps into a box overlooking an internal "courtyard" about 6 foot square. We complained and after my wife lay down (touch of sunstroke) told since we had used room could not usually get another but we persisted, and got a better one on side...

Dear Sirs, we thank you for leaving your comment. We are sorry that you were disappointed. We thought you would be pleased assigning you an interior room as you had requested a quiet room, then inside, not on the street. The works of which you speak have lasted two hours on two different days without any noise: we are in...

We just stayed at the Agila Ortigia Charme Hotel in Siracusa and loved it. It was in a perfect location to explore the island. The rooms were beautiful. The people at the front desk were very friendly and very helpful making recommendations for restaurants, walking tours , driving directions and activities. We had dinner in the hotel the night we...

This was our third and final base on our 2 week trip to Sicily and was marginally the best. On arrival we were immediately offered soft drinks and nibbles. Our luggage was brought to the room for us. We found the hotel, exactly as named, charming, and the staff, particularly on reception, even more so. Our room was not massive,...

We loved this hotel! We did extensive research for our trip to Sicily and read all the reviews on the hotels. Any negative ones for this hotel certainly didn't apply. The staff was wonderful to us from the moment we arrived. They were always friendly and helpful. They suggested restaurants and helped us with some of our Italian words! Our...

This hotel was the biggest disappointment of our trip in Sicily. It is a nice hotel but is far to deserved its 4 stars and is way too overpriced ! 300 euros a night for a hotel where : 1/ you arrive and do not receive any welcome drinks 2/ you have to wait 15min for someone to help you...

Dear Madam, Thank you for taking the time to write us. I am sorry that your stay was not to your liking. It ' is really strange that there were so many problems and all together only during your stay. I realize that, at times, the perception of a thing may well be different from what it actually is. If...

We arrived by car and were immediately greeted outside by a helpful member of staff who assisted us with parking and our luggage. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were offered free wi-fi. The website warns that it is an old building and some of the rooms are quite small, but ours, whilst not huge, was perfectly adequate...

We travelled to Ortigia in September to visit the War Cemetery with my husband and father. We are really pleased we chose this hotel. The hotel is situated in the historical part of Siracusa. The rooms are small but full of charme. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is very good. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel is located in an exquisite ancient building on the waterfront of Ortigia, the historic centre of Syracuse. Giving onto the ancient "Mastra Rua," where the Siracusan nobility resided from the 14th century, the hotel is a starting point for cultural itineraries. Its recent restoration maintains the original structure made of three buildings, contributing to its dynamic layout. Rooms are furnished differently with antique furniture, four-poster beds and refined interior decoration with distinctive Sicilian touches and Mediterranean features such as colorful bathrooms tiles. ... more   less
