Nothing wrong with this hostel itself, the little courtyard is cute and the bed was comfy. All staff were very friendly and had genuine smiles. My bracelet was stolen off my wrist in my sleep in the female dorm, although when I mentioned it to a staff member to keep an eye out if it turned up he didn’t seem to care. The bathroom needs a good bloody scrub, particularly the shower, but I’ve stayed in worse.
I stayed here in late June with my friend (both female, 19 y/old) in a 4 room female dorm and we had a great stay. The rooms were clean and tidy with lockers and plenty of power outlets. Our room also had a door out onto the outdoor terrace which was lovely. Our stay included free towels and free breakfast which was great. One of the members of staff would always come and make you a hot drink of your choice (cappuccino, tea, latte, whatever!) which was a nice touch. One of the owner's dogs was always around in the courtyard to welcome us back and he was adorable. The staff were lovely and really helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!
I have made 2 bookings at this hostel in Apr. '18. However, the owner sent me an email saying they will put me to another different place due to OVERBOOKING. This tells how they manage stuff and how irresponsible they are. I am looking for another place. Despite of my deposit refund request, they are STILL HOLDING on it!!
It's not so expensive, but the staff are so kind and nice. They can recommend many restaurants, activities, shopping... And location is good! Not dangerous spot, near the Main Street... They have the terrace in the middle, so you can relax after the busy and sunny day :)
Everything was very good: the place was really nice and so were the rooms. The only thing that disturbed me a bit is that the bathroom wasn't inside of the room, but anyway I spent an amazing time there. Also, everyone there is so kind and I loved that!
My friends and I stayed here recently and we had a very pleasant experience. Everyone who worked there, especially the owner was very nice to us and welcoming. They gave us great recommendations of where to go an ensured that we had everything we needed. They really provided great hospitality and made our stay in Palermo very enjoyable.
While this accommodation was sufficient, I don't think it lived up to my expectations based on the reviews I read on here prior to booking. Booked female dorm. Yes, it is true that Vitorio and Angelo are nice, but it doesn't make up for the shortcomings of this hostel. I had a pleasant stay which could have been improved by having power points within reach off all beds. A simple shelf or bedside table would be appreciated, as would a lamp for each bed. Also, very true about the noise if put in a room facing the street. Wasn't too disruptive but just be aware. Breakfast was poor. One type of cereal and that's pretty much it. Except for those pre cooked cold toasts and biscuits. BUT was made a coffee each morning so that was a positive. Fairly close to train station and central for attractions. Clean! but small touches would make a world of difference.…
Mamamias feel more like a hotel than a hostel although it has the usual dormitory sleeping arrangement. It's the service. George and Angelo make an art form out of taking care of their guests. I love this place and heartily recommend it.
About 10 minutes from the station, and a few minutes from the port. Good quiet room, overlooking a small quad. Big double bed and good wifi, plus includes free breakfast. It is very secure, and you are given your own set of keys for entry Good meeting place for other travellers, with small bars, and markets nearby.Maybe only downside is lack of bar,and TV(but I dont watch much anyway).
My cousin and I shared a room for 1 night in Mamamia - clean sheets, clean towels, clean bathrooms. Very acceptable rooms, and breakfast (also included) was a European breakfast (cookies, bread, toast & jams, juices and coffee). Vitorrio the manager was very welcoming and even called the car hire for me to translate my requests. Great spot and great hospitality! Thank you, Mamamia!!!
