I found this hotel very charming. The decor is unique and when we were there the staff friendly. It was also clean and obviously centrally located. But it is simple and you must expect some noise being close to the street and an old building. We did not have breakfast, and it does not seem that we missed out.

Starting with its positive aspects, the hotel is located in a very popular tourist destination, with plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby. Also, the rates are very reasonable. However, the rooms are very tired and shabby, and not at all clean, with linens changed only every 3 days unless you pay an extra charge. The shower base was approximately... More

The hotel is very centrally situated in Via Roma some 300 meters from the central station so traveling around is quite easy. The hotel seems to be an old residence block which has been altered to cater as a hotel on the 3rd/4th floors. It is served by an old fashioned but functional lift. Our room was decent sized room but... More

The location of the hotel is perfect, very central with good shopping nearby. The wifi was very slow in the evenings when guests came back. The shower always overflowed since there was only a curtain around it which soaked through the bath mat. The air conditioning worked well. The paintings in the hotel were a little bizarre. The breakfast was... More

This is a warm and welcoming hotel located at the heart of the city. It is about 10 minutes walk from the railway station (which is where the coaches from the airport drop-off and pick-up). There are some shops nearby, some lovely restaurants & cafes, and just a short distance away across the street is a lively piazza for some... More

After having a terrible experience with another accommodation in Palermo, we had to book a hotel upon our arrival in the city. Hotel Moderno had a last-minute deal which we took. We arrived at the hotel 10 minutes after making the reservation and our room was surprisingly ready. We got a nice room with a spacious balcony and an amazing... More

Enjoyed nice weekend break here. Was an upgrade from original booking but we both enjoyed our time there. Free breakfast, not far from town centre which is approx about ten minutes walking distance. Rooms cleaned every 3 days but if they are quiet they'll clean more or less on a daily basis. All in all for the price you pay... More

A perfect location for our 3 night stay upon arriving in Sicily. It is located around the corner from the main stop of the on-off bus which we took full advantage of. The staff was very helpful in assisting us with travel arrangements to the islands. The room was adequate considering the price (under 100E). Breakfast was fine and we... More

This hotel was very good value for money, we stayed here as the original hotel we were to stay in was a shabby mess (see review Casa Giuddita). The hotel was clean and plenty of hot water, the breakfast was ok, more than 1 cup of tea would have been nice... The street noise was very loud but if you... More

It was a really unpleasant experience in almost every respect. The double bed in room number 34 was actually two beds that had been put next to each other. The beds did not have a hard base and were glorified camp beds with spring bases. Sleeping on the was agonising and we had take the mattresses of the beds and... More
