This was a great hotel full of faded charm in a beautiful courtyard building, now appears to be closed which is a great loss, not many like this left these days. Stayed here about three years ago and had two different rooms, both gorgeous and the owners were really charming and very helpful when we got mugged, calling the police...

I had made reservations for Hotel Orientale on April 8,2015, to arrive Sept. 15,2015. Four days before flying to Palermo, I received an email stating my reservation was cancelled due to death of the owner. After reading this for the third time ,I wondered if the owner was the sole employee. At such short notice I had to accept whatever...

This was a great place to spend the night for very little in Palermo, and I agree with others that the lead up to the place is CRAZY, with the palatial courtyard, grand staircase and random signs leading you to the door of Orientale. I, unfortunately, had a rather harrowing experience checking in with the Nonna who takes care of...

We arrived late at night and were transported immediately into another world. The communal courtyard full of used and disused cars, cats and washing; then the red marble sweeping staircase that took us to the first floor where the hotel was situated. It was a bonkers place and we loved it. We had requested quiet rooms not overlooking the main...

If you prefer your hotels with history and character rather than bland uniformity, this hotel is a great choice. An original palazzo, used over the years as a film and fashion shoot set, you can feel the atmosphere as soon as you walk into the courtyard. Our room overlooked the courtyard and had a private bathroom so I think it...

This hotel is charming with a long history and close to the train station&bus terminal ,but on the very noisy ,even more at night, street. There was some episodes in this hotel. A very elderly grandmother in the front could not hear the door bell sound . So I could't enter the room for a 15 minutes. And unwashed fruits...

We have just spent 3 nights in Room 4. We took notice of the concerns about street noise and as our room overlooked the courtyard we had no problems at all. A little chaotic at check in, though we did arrive from the airport (a really easy bus ride away) at just gone midday. All was resolved quickly. Room a...

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel located very closely to the train station and to the historical neighbor. Don't expect a fashionable place, with all the modern comfort. It is simple and a little bit laid back, but clean and so charming that we did not regret our choice a second. It is also cheap (50 euros per night...

My friend and I stayed here for a week whilst exploring Palermo and surrounds. It's a great place, close to central station and bus links as well as the buzzing bars and restaurants for the evenings. Rooms are basic but adequate.

We chose this B&B because it was in walking distance to the railway station. We arrived in the evening. We booked through hotels.com however on arrival our booking could not be found. At the end everything worked out however the welcome wasn't a pleasant experience.
