You stay at Hotel Touring Messina because it is close to the train station and affordable. You can do a day trip to Taormina, catch ferry to the Islands or catch a bus to up to Rome. I wish to recommend it because its interior common areas are architecturally unusual with a theme of marble, terrazzo and dark timber 1930’s... More

Only positive thing about this hotel is the location. Only 2 minutes walk from the train station. The hotel itself really needs upgrades in almost every way. Main problem though was the terrible noise. I got virtually no sleep that night. Sounded like you were in the middle of the road, with honking horns and constant traffic going by all... More

This is an old fashioned hotel with old fashioned service. The friendly and helpful staff are great. They showed us to our room and made sure everything was ok, gave us coffee and croissants for breakfast, and let us store our bags while we waited for the train and explored Messina (even called our after us when we left without... We booked this hotel because of our late arrival with the ferry. We were travelling with the Cartour ferry from Salerno, that arrived around 10.00p.m. This hotel is located just at the exit/entrance for the ferry. No big expectations. The staff is nice and the room are quite ok. Best deal for the pick season in the area. Perfect for... More

I have been to this hotel on more than one occasion and have always found it cheap, cheerful and convenient. You get what you pay for, so don't expect too many stars, the furnishings are old and the heater in my room was not doing so well with the beautiful high ceilings, but the people are mostly nice, the breakfast... Everything, ok it was cheap, but how they had 3 stars above the door is beyond me. The guy on the desk was an Italian Basil Fawlty. The first room given had a smell so bad, I thought something had died in there. We were given a remote for air con and the tv but both failed to work. The... More

Hotel Touring is very conveniently located close to Messina Centrale and is good value for money. The room was quite old and dated but it was exactly as I'd expected from the photos. Bathroom was quite new and very clean. Plumbing a bit noisy (pipes). Ancient grey towels. Owner and other man on at night and in the morning pleasant... More

Budget hotel ideal for backpackers or whoever is looking for simple accomodation. Old-fashioned hotel in a liberty style building close to the railway station, the bus station and the port. Rooms are spacious and clean, but the noise coming from the streets goes on all night. Messina is a beautiful modern city with a long history, unfortunately little known and... More
