Having spent a few days in the museum city of Syracuse, it was great to come to such a lively buzzing place. Etna Suites was the perfect location to spend the night. Very central, opposite the beautiful Bellini Gardens. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was the best we had in the whole of Sicily. Recommended.
This “hotel” could be great. It was superbly situated in Catania on a beautiful street right in the centre. Our room was nice - although not a “suite” - and it was very clean and smart. However there was no safe key - we were promised one but never got one - and the air conditioning was incredibly loud. They tried to fix it but couldn’t. Breakfast on the first morning was totally unorganised with many breakfast items that had not been replenished. The staff though worked very hard to sort it out and it didn’t take long. Breakfast on day two was well organised. The staff at this establishment were very pleasant. With some attention to detail it could be excellent.
I should have understood from the sloppy entrance, from the neglected stairway, the dusty doormat what type of room was awaiting us. But the pictures on the web were so pretty and the comments on TA were so good…. The management wisely has you pay before you see the merchandise - and we were so silly as to accept such a ridiculous system. I paid and then saw it: supposedly one of their best rooms, it looked bleak and smelt bad. Dreary empty spaces, trashy furniture, scratched surfaces, cheap mattress, cracked shower, plastic flowers (!) in the pathetic attempt to add some ‘colour’ and ‘warm up’ a helplessly sad environment. The Etna Suite is to be filed alongside the zillion of improvised structures that have mushroomed out in the last few years with the clear intention to make as much money as possible with the minimum investment possible and the illusion that painting rooms white and throwing in some taupe something alongside a few pieces of so-to-speak ‘design’ plastic is all what is needed to call a place ‘cool’ and name it a ‘suite’. Forget it. Do forget about it. PS: no elevator, no desk assistance after 7 pm, no air conditioning in breakfast room. Amen.…
Very helpful staff, massive bathroom and clean room. The B&B is located in the centre of the district with easy access to shops and restaurants. The airport express bus Alibus stops opposite to the B&B and only cost €4. The same stop can be used to go back to the airport at the end of your stay.
This is a very modern hotel that is quite a surprise, because it's inside a very old building. You have to walk up several floors. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was luxurious (including both a shower and a jacuzzi) and I was really looking forward to trying out the shower, but by the time I wanted to use it just before bed, there was no water in the bathroom. The hotel is not staffed at night, so I wrote a complaint via WhatsApp. In the morning the staff explained that the water had been shut off by the city and there was nothing they could do about it. The water was back on by morning, so I'm sure this really was something the hotel had no control over, but it was still frustrating. The hotel is in a nice location across from a city park with stunning views of Mt. Etna's ash plume. There are many good restaurants a couple of blocks away.…
Highly recommend Etna suites for cleanliness, location and breakfast to die for in the heart of the city at Via Etnea but what makes Etna suites special are the staff who are so friendly and ready to help and assist you in every way!
We use to go every month bought last Week I called Alfredo as usual ask him for a room and he told me yes we have available and I will give you a bigger room this time. We arrived at 22.30 had to get the keys from a deposit box and went in the room.... A/C not working toilet seat was broken and the shower was so small that we couldn't go in it. The day after we asked them to change the room and they told us that the are full. I told them no problem as we always come here for this time I pay for one night as I had booked two nights and we see you next time as the room wasn't good for us. They told you have to pay for two nights and that it was our problem if we can't get in the shower 🚿. We will never go again they have lost a good client as we use to go always there.
We had one of the best rooms in the hotel. (They all seem to be different: very large, standard, with mezzanine sleeping area, etc.) Our room (Desiderio) had a chaise longue/single bed in the entrance hall, a very large bathroom with a 6' x 4' walk-in shower, a very large double bedroom with balcony, tv, tea/coffee & kettle and another chaise longue/single bed. (Mattress was comfortable, could do with better pillows, but they were ok.) The balcony was onto Via Etnea (a main shopping street), so there was some road noise, but there was also a view up the street of Etna and the Villa Bellini Garden (a park) was directly across the road. There were lots of shops, restaurants, wine bars and pasticceria on the street/in the area. The hotel organised minibus transfers for us and the arrangements worked smoothly. Points to note: There are no lifts. Reception is on the first floor and the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The breakfast room is on the 2nd floor.…
This is the 4th year staying at Etnea Suite so far, we were never disappointed it is in a central position, very close to market and good restaurants. Rooms are always very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Wifi works properly and most rooms have balcony’s. I would only suggest that maybe i lift will be installed Alfredo 😉 the stairs are too much sometimes 😉apart from that keep it up guys 👍
The location was perfectly, just opposite the Belini Gardens of Catania. Via Etnea where the hotel is, suggested for shopping. The hotel was ok, spacious rooms and clean. I would like to recommend slippers and bathrobes for the room. Also some more hot dishes for the breakfast.
