This was my second time staying at Habitat and it exceeded my expectations. The hotel has undergone some serious refurbishment since my last stay and it's all very tastefully done. For starters, the location is wonderful. You step outside and you are in front of the Teatro Bellini in a most delightful square, plus you are metres away from the High Street. My room was on the top floor, spotless and it had these wonderful skylight windows, which add a lot of charm. But what makes this hotel so wonderful is the staff. I felt at home the minute I entered the premises. Adelaide, the receptionist on duty was charming to a fault. She is very warm, attentive and cheerful and was always ready with helpful tips. She even organised a very generous packed breakfast/ picnic basket to take away in the morning since I had an early flight to catch. Another shout out goes to Vanessa; the wonderful lady who is in charge of breakfast. What a delight to be greeted in the morning by a smiling, very attentive and very unobtrusive woman who serves a most scrumptious breakfast and seems to read your mind about what you want. Thanks Adelaide and Vanessa for making my stay so restful. The hotel is wonderful but it is people like you who make the experience an unforgettable one. I hope to see you again soon. PS I'm sure the rest of the staff is equally nice but during my very short stay I only come in contact mostly with those two ladies.

Such a gorgeous hotel - central, but quiet and private. The rooms are incredibly well designed, the staff so welcoming and helpful, and the food out of this world. Its the only place I would recommend to stay in Catania.

This hotel has an abundance mentality, they offer you service from the moment you arrive. Raphael on the reception is just the nicest man, and the breakfast is the best of many we have savored over many years. Then there is the offer of dinner! We ate there on both nights and we are going back at the end August, to try more items on menu. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Be aware that when you arrive the entrance you feel you may have arrived at the wrong address, but after pushing the reception button all is revealed! Enjoy… one of our best hotel treats

The hotel is very well located and at first glance it is beautiful. Unfortunately the hotel consists of parts of a large house that are separated from each other. This does not give a nice cozy feeling. There were also renovations in the building during our stay. Probably due because of the design interior of the common areas and the rooms, the hotel calls itself a boutique hotel. True, when you enter your room there is a wow feeling. It's great to stand under a huge rain shower, but if the drain can't collect all the water and it eventually runs into the dressing, something is wrong with the design. We were absolutely not bothered by the noise from outside but we did hear our upstairs neighbor get up and walk through his room. For us, a boutique hotel experience is a luxury stay in a room where everything is provided for the guest. Too bad we had to use toilet paper to blow our noses. There was no possibility to make tea or coffee in the room. Any information regarding the hotel and the city was also not present in the room. And we were shocked the next morning when I discovered a long black hair between my sheets. Our expectations may have been too high. But during our trip we stayed in Palermo in a Boutique B&B and everything there was thought of for the guests, down to the smallest detail. With a bit of effort it can make a big difference and we would be happy to come back.

Very cute, little boutique hotel. The breakfast was great, the look and feel of the hotel was nice, the room that we stayed in was the terrace room which looks like it has been recently renovated. The building is old but the rooms are all very new and modern inside. The staff was excellent and its right in the midst of the city and you won't even know it!

The Habitat Hotel in Catania has an excellent location for walking around the city. the Cathedral Piazza is not very far away on foot. It is not so easy to reach by car due to a pedestrian area in front of the building. The hotel does offer a garage for parking. Our room was a nice size and well decorated. The batroom was very nice and also efficient. The buffet breakfast was great. Service was extra friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay here for four nights, would highly recommend. It is very well located as a base to explore Catania. Our room was very comfortable and pretty with the mosaic tiles. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There’s a lovely shaded garden/patio area in the middle that is nice to have a tea or drink in the afternoon. One thing to be aware of with the junior suite room is that the bathroom doesn’t have a door and the shower has a glass panel looking into the room. Not so much of an issue if you go with a partner of many years but may matter to some! A couple of things that could improve the room would be to have another chair or a small table, maybe a chair on the balcony and a few details like tissue boxes and an extra bin. Overall we had a lovely stay, would recommend and hope that we get to come back some day too!

We stayed for two nights and returned on the final night of our trip. The room we received was an upgrade, which was a bonus! It was very clean, modern and spacious. The staff we met were all lovely-friendly and helpful as was the lady who did the breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and fresh produce. The location of the hotel was excellent. It was next to the Bellini theatre and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Catania. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a clean and welcoming base to explore Catania.

The clue is in the title! I’ve been in Italy for nearly three weeks and I’ve stayed in 6 hotels, 3 of which are in Sicily. This has, to date, been the best hotel I have stayed in. My only regret is not staying for longer here! Whilst it’s billed as a 3 star hotel it really does offer more than a typical three star. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished with high ceilings and mosaic floors. The bathroom is phenomenal with an amazing rain shower and the eco friendly toiletries are a nice touch. The breakfast was fabulous with an exceptional range for a continental offering. My only regret is not having dinner at the hotel (which is offered at an additional charge). The staff are also incredibly friendly and helpful. I can’t remember the name of the girl who helped me on check in but she was fabulous from arranging taxis to making helpful suggestions of what to see. The one minor point to note is that those rooms that face onto the Main Street will hear (faintly) the chatter from the bar across the street. The rooms have ear plugs supplied and I actually didn’t notice it. Given I’m a light sleeper that tells you how quiet it actually is. I would not hesitate to come back and stay again for longer and I really recommend that you try this hotel out.

Every body be careful. At the internal yard and at the stairs maybe construction materials will fall... The place is under construction and the civil engineers of the municipality has to check the security of the guests.
