Das Hotel und die Anlage mit Pool sind sehr schön. Zimmer und Balkon groß (Standart DZ) Frühstück mit Lachs und Sekt, lecker italienischer Käse und Schinken, viele süße Teilchen. Also für italienische Verhältnisse ziemlich viel.

Brug ikke jeres penge her

We would definitely not recommend anyone to stay at this 4 star hotel (being generous). It was by far the worst experience we have ever had. Shocking! I have worked in hotels myself in different countries and there is no way this is a five star hotel. Service is non existent, facilities are way outdated, there is a clear language barrier as barely anyone speaks English including management, and the cleaning is poor. On check-in (which is at 2pm as we were very promptly reminded when we arrived at 1.50pm), we dropped our luggage and had to wait around until after 2.30pm for our room. We quickly realised there is nothing to do as all the facilities are either closed or nonexistent (i.e. no gym/spa/fitness facilities as advertised, no other common areas such as a place to read a book or similar). After sitting down literally in front of the person that checked us in for 45 minutes, it was us who had to stand up and go ask if our room was finally ready, to which we were greeted with “oh yes it is” (thank you for letting us know). We then asked for our luggage back, and to our surprise on of them was completely broken (the hard bit with the handle was completely detached from the suitcase itself). We obviously questioned it and got the following answer “well I don’t know, I found it in this state” so we complained and got management involved. They finally said they were going to try to fix it and as a compensation offered to removed the extras from our bill at check out (we were on a half board package). Whilst we were waiting for our suitcase to be fixed we went up to the room (very dark, even though it was on the second floor; the lighting was very poor). We were not surprised to learn that one of the bedside lamps was not working and there was only one pair of sleepers. This was rectified fairly quick, even though a few hours later the same bedside lamp stopped working again, and at this point we were done complaining as we just wanted to have a relaxing time and not be chasing a “five star hotel” for such basic matters. A few hours after that, they returned the suitcase to us which had been glued together (not ideal but at least we could now roll it again. After the nightmarish check-in experience, we kept noticing more and more things throughout our stay that we couldn’t be bothered to complain about and ruin the rest of our holiday any further, however everyone should know: - room service doesn’t exist - every time I called the phone was never answered. Once I had to phone the reception who then told me to ring some other number, who also told me to ring some other different number, who in the end said they didn’t serve omelette (this is 2.30pm) because they didn’t have it (after a big struggle to make myself understood - I wanted an omelette). At this point I gave up and went to eat outside the “resort” - the sheets and pillowcases were never changed (we stayed 7 nights) - the bathtub and the bidet were never cleaned. In fact the bidet was probably wiped with one of our used bath towels as it had a few very long hairs attached to it (this was on the second or third day of our stay, and it remained like that until the end of it) - the toiletries, bath towels and toilet paper was not always replaced/replenished - water is not replenished in the room, we had to keep ordering it from the bar (remember no room service), which incurs and additional charge of 5€ each time because someone has to walk a few meters to bring the water to the room - there is only one restaurant for dinner and lunch (always the same menu) and one restaurant for breakfast To finish off in style, when we checked out, and not to our surprise we were presented with a bill for the extras (which management had promised to remove on check-in for breaking our luggage and glueing it together). Bear in mind the only extras on the bill were the water we ordered throughout the stay, one lunch and 2 drinks at the bar (for a 7 night stay). We complained again and the same manager (very tall and slim, greyish short hair) that promised to remove our extras from the bill when we checked in said “oh I can only offer you a discount on the bill but can’t remove everything, because I didn’t know what extras we were going to have (as if we broke the bank with water, one lunch and two limoncellos). We argued that the suitcase itself was vintage and it cost around 300$ at the time (we can’t even buy another one like it anymore), and the remark from the manager was “well it doesn’t look like it is”. At this point the situation was bound to go south very quickly and so to prevent ruining my supposedly relaxing holiday any further (which I ended up feeling more distressed and frustrated about than when I arrived), I was forced to pay for the lunch and the two limoncellos and have just the water removed from the bill. Ps: Giorgio (from F&B) is amazing (normally at dinner, sometimes at lunch), together with another two colleagues of his, a young slender lady with long straight black hair (normally at lunch), and another gentleman (always at the dinner) with a very good level of English. This last gentleman also helped us with the local bus schedule as we met him at the bus stop and he was so much more helpful than any other member of management or staff.

Peccato! Perché la location merita più di 5 stelle!

This hotel is definitely not 4*. It thinks it’s so much better than it is, trading on past reputational glory! Recommended by friends from Malta that go every year, we were so massively disappointed. Perhaps they are known to staff and maybe treated differently! The fabric is ok. Yes it’s tired and needs a facelift but it’s acceptable. We had a ground floor room with an outside terrace which was pleasant enough. But that’s the only positive. Among the downsides was the constant blaring music everywhere. Some might like it but we certainly didn’t. I tried to watch the funeral of the Queen of England and had to move to the far reaches of the gardens to get away fro t he loud and upbeat music. No pool towels available on the Monday at any point if the day. No butter at breakfast on our penultimate day. And trying to get a tea of coffee at beak fast was nigh on impossible. The breakfast staff always greeted you warmly but never asked what you wanted as a drink. Juice ran out; scrambled eggs tan out but butter?! Sorry no have!! The restaurant has ideas way above its station - loud live music with a mediocre singer which really irritated us. Waited 40 mins for our wine by which time we were well into out main course. The food (when it eventually came) was cold and poor. Only there once in our 5 night stay and will def not be back. Hotel taxi service mega expensive (30 euros into Catania), no wifi in the room, no towels on our first day; plugs that don’t operate; doors that don’t shut without a good bang; where do I stop?! The biggest big bear was the wifi. Couldn’t work or handle social media without going into public areas and even those were patchy. So, get some more routers, train your staff to give a jot, teach them to bend over backwards on the service front and the tired rooms and general areas wouldn’t matter. This hotel seriously needs a crash course in service!! On the plus side - the free entry to the beach lido across the road was welcomed and the beach fab. Several trattorie across the road serve much better food than the hotel and the Arcobaleno (the free lido that comes with the hotel) has some of the best food in the Catania area!! Once we discovered it we ate there every lunch and evening if we were not out and about!

We came for 7 days given room 146. Musty smell as soon we walked in safe didn't work an the air con is controlled by reception so if you want it lowered you have to give ask at reception. The patio is right up against the greenery which surround the hotel an is rife with mozzies we got eaten. The tables of the resteraunt are the same. Disinterest by staff seems the norm. Can wait 40 minutes by pool bar for service. 10 minutes in the hotel bar. Told hotel full an couldn't change room or get a late check out. So had 8 hrs to wait in hotel for pickup.

A fuir..

Definitely not a 5* hotel. The air con is controlled remotely at the front desk. Had to ask everyday for the first week to get it switched on. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The fridge also didn’t work but was fixed after about the 6th day. The hotel could be nice if they took the trouble with routine maintenance. Great pool although lots of tiles missing. Pretty decent continental breakfast offering with a great terrace looking towards Etna. You have free access to a private beach across the road. Just ask at reception. Bar and restaurant in the hotel are very expensive. About a 30 minute walk into town but be prepared for crossing this really business road and roundabout where no one stops unless you step out into the moving traffic. Not in the nicest of areas.

What a lovely hotel and location for our week relaxation break. The hotel is set in beautiful green and well-kept grounds. The reception area is very grand and spacious and the room was spacious with a large balcony. The whole entire is very clean and the room cleaning was excellent. The pool is beautifully set and is served by a bar from 11.00 to 19.00 constantly manned by two people serving drinks and poolside snack lunch. The staff are very helpful and proferssional .The hotel also has an arrangement with a lido (private beach) called Lido Arcobaleno whereby admission is free. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is opposite the beach where the lidos are, the bus stop to Catania is about 50m away (the bus frequency is about every 10 minutes and the fare is 1 Euro) and the airport is so close.
