We had a great time with Jonio Diving and staying a Camping Jonio. Super nice people, very safety conscious, and great to dive with. They get my personal 5 Star recommendation. Our accommodation was literally a stone's throw from the dive base.

I am travelling around Sicily and camping. I had to pitch my tent on a stone chip surface with hard ground below that. There is free WiFi for 1 hour. The toilets smell and need updating as do wash rooms. Toilet paper included. The charge is higher than I paid before for a campsite. I parked car outside gate, to save money, I didn't need electricity, as I am only charging phone. The bar area is OK, a bit dated. They know they are on to a cash cow for Catania. I personally would give Catania a miss. There are better places to stay and visit.

Very well received by reception. Nice plot size for us, we are 9.5m., but not many more, as big. Small, campsite situated near the sea, with access to the rocky platform below. Big, well equipped restaurant on site, though we didn't try it, as it looked quiet still, but it's probably very busy in the summer. Clean and adequate toilet/ shower/wash up area. Buses into town. Cycle track by sea only so far, then busy road into town.Recepion staff, friendly and informative

We arrived there by our rented camper looking for a safe place to spend the night. Just 10 minutes earlier the gates had closed. Yet an English speaking man came to let us in. In the parking lot! We couldn't enter the camping or make use of any facilities. But we were just happy to be safe. The next morning we went to collect our passports and express our appreciation for the help only to find that we were actually charged for a whole day's fee for a camper and 2 people. That equaled something like 27€.night before. The man who had to tell us that was someone else. A very polite and gentle man. Also a foreigner but not the German(?) of the night before. He did apologise for this development and tried his best to explain his difficult position. We thank him. But Camping Jonio gave a black start to our very few days stay on the island.

Response from Giuseppe Z, Direttore at Camping Jonio
Responded 20 Mar 2018
You arrived accompanied by the police (because someone was bothering you on the street) in the middle of the night, an hour and a half after the closing time of the gates. The guardian made you put the camper in the guarded parking (not to disturb other customers during the night, as international camp regulations establish), with full access on foot to the campsite to make the passports' registration, use the bathrooms, the free hot showers and the other facilities. He also showed you the prices and gave you his telephone number for any need. In the morning you had full access to the campsite even by camper to use also the camper service. You came at the reception to collect your passports (required for the normal registration of personal data and the consequent tax receipt) with the claim of not paying anything and even threatening the staff to make bad reviews. We do not give in to these despicable blackmail and we keep working with professionalism, fairness and passion for our kind guests from all over the world.

The gentleman who greeted us was just lovely. He came out to welcome us as we arrived and was aware of the size of the pitch we would need due to the length and height of our motor home. The facilities are always clean - maybe not the most up to date - but cleanliness is more important! The restaurant is good and was open in early May which had been unusual. We had a problem with our motor home which they were very happy to help us with including translating info from the mechanic who dealt with the problem to printing off maps to show us how to get to the garage. They really couldn't have been more helpful! It's an excellent site for visits to Catania and the surrounding area. And go to Terrazza Balsamo by the little harbour and have an apperativo - you won't need any dinner afterwards!

Easy to reach, private parkng and close to the city center. Beautiful location on rocky beach in a residential and quiet area. We slept in a nice, well-equipped and clean mobile home with spectacular sea view. The restaurant is excellent also for kids. Very friendly, helpful and multilingual staff also organized tours. Excellent value for money. Would definitely reccomend and consider returning

First thing I loved about this place: my friends were staying there. Second thing I loved about it: The SIGNAGE IS SO CLEAR! In Italy this is a massive treat. My phone navigation wasn't working, and I took the wrong road, and thanks to their signs, I still arrived in time to meet my friends, very easily. The guy who runs the place speaks lots of languages and is cheerful and really cool and just made my day when I need a pick-me-up, you know? Had a good sleep. And it's quite amazingly right by the beautiful sea and you can hear the waves in the morning, and easily catch the bus to town. And it has a restaurant and a library with English books! Yay! My tent got peed on by four separate cats, because there are floods of stray cats in the neighbourhood. I hopefully washed it off well enough (the campground has great washing facilities) but it still smells a bit, but this would not be a deterrent for campervan people.

We only went to the camping for one day in order to go diving with the Jonio Pro Divers (Peppe). It was really nice and they took great care of us and even picked us up from the bus station, I would definitively recommend to go diving with the Jonio Pro Divers!
