We wanted a central location to visit Sicily. It worked out great. But our hotel was the best part. The staff treated us like family. Clean, great service, great food and overall just a great experience. We want to thank a very special team. Antonio, Francesca, Giuseppe, Angelo, Rosario, Ugo and Nicolli. They made our stay very special. The staff at the front desk was excellent and coordinated all of our adventures flawlessly. Many thanks to the entire staff.
Situated in the centre of Catania it was walking distance to the main shopping area, about 500-700m. There was a Mount Etna View point not too far away which was impressive. The Hotel was welcoming and clean and quiet whilst I was there. The restaurant was open only some of the time which meant food had to be got from elsewhere at times, no option there. The room was clean and the staff spoke good English which helped. Would I go back, not sure. I think I’d be tempted to see what else was available as well in the area.
Only stayed one night but staff was very kind and helpful and our meal prepared by Rosario was superb and Francesca was beautiful and efficient! Would have loved to have spent more time in Catania ❤❤❤
Minus: Outdated interior. To take a shower there is a shower/bathtub combo, which get very slippery. Breakfast was okay, but the scrambled eggs were cooked to powder. There was also no noise reduction pads on the chairs we sat on in the breakfast room, so when we got in and out of the chair there was such a loud noise. Didn't feel very welcomed at the hotel by the receptionists. Even the taxi driver from the airport to the hotel said that this was a bad choice, but okay for 1 night. Plus: Good bed, minibar, good air condition.
The NH Catania is a modern hotel, which is located well for most touristic joys. The rooms are baisc but big, everything works as expected, aircon as well. The breakfast is vast, with options for eggs cooked by order as well. Only one coffee machine makes the queue a bit large though. The bar on the ground floor is small but makes good cocktails. Lovely people all around. The main draw though is the parking - nice and easy, and you keep your parking spot during your stay.
The hotel is situated in a central area close to the main shopping street and lots of great eating places. It's not the most modern in terms of decor and bathroom fittings, but is perfectly acceptable and spotlessly clean. The staff couldn't be more helpful and are always readily available. The hotel bar is definitely worth a visit too!
The Hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Not the most modern hotel but spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was also good with a varied selection. It’s located a bit far out from the main square, however only a few minutes walk from the main drag into the city.
Unexpected trip to Sicily and no US Navy base accommodations available. NH hotel was really the only choice available but I could not be more satisfied. Good value for the money, breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had, and staff was great. It was my first time in Italy and I didn't know how a lot of things worked or where anything was. Front desk staff was always very friendly and professional even though I had a lot of questions every day.
As my title says. . I have been retuning again and again and that says it all. Literally from a home to home experience. Obviously being on Holiday I was pampered , it was so nice to return after a day out and find everything spotlessly clean, and my room chosen tea making facilities a real treat. I arrived late during my last and yet (!) a snack ( a wonderful warm toasted sandwich) was prepared in spite of the bar being closed Thanks for all that.
Good clean hotel. All the staff we met were very polite, helpful and professional. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Lovely powerful shower. Air conditioned, which was definitely needed with the outdoor temperature of 34°c every day! Good breakfast selection - scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs (they would prepare eggs other ways on request), bacon, mushrooms, bread to toast using a very slow toaster(!) and other types of bread, pancakes, cereal, museli, four types of milk, yogurt plus toppings, pastries and cut fresh melon and pineapple. We would have liked to try the restaurant but the menu seemed limited (almost entirely meat) and when we asked about vegetarian we were offered pasta al Norma. We later decided to try it out but when we arrived at 8pm there was no one around to make a reservation with. Location is about 20 mins walk from bus and train stations and same distance again to the main square with the Elephant statue in. We didn't use it but Alibus to airport goes from road across from the hotel.…
