Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were very nice and friendly and waited for us until after midnight. They served rich and excellent breakfast on a terrace with a lovely view. The room was spacious and clean with fresh towels and a small balcony. The location was also quite central, only 5 minutes on foot from the Piazza Duomo. Highly recommended.

So wonderfully beautiful, quintessentially Scicillian... the building with period charm really does ooze culture and character. We loved our stay here and hope to return one day. Situated just a few hundred yards of the city centre and key transport links to neighboring Taormina and Siracusa. Really friendly staff, all too eager to help.

The taxi dropped us at one of those dirty gates that lead into a dirty yard. We were dismayed and then had to climb several flights of stairs of this ancient building to get to the 'hotel.' The manager carried our bags, thankfully. However, by the time we got to the umpteenth floor, we had made our mind up we couldn't do that climb up and down several times a day. The room itself was clean, but poor. I was surprised, as it wasn't that cheap to stay there. I asked for a reduction in the price I had to pay. None was forthcoming. We looked up another place in Catania. Thankfully, they had a room for us, and only on the first floor! Stay at the Anfiteatro Les Suites. Perfect!

We booked a room here 3 months before travelling and even phoned to confirm the day before. On arrival we were told we didn’t have a room but eventually gave us one. After unpacking and going to bed we were then thrown out of our room at 2am saying our room was allocated to someone else who had just arrived. The whole experience was a disastrous start to a holiday of a lifetime.

Smack in the middle of town, spacy room third floor of an old building and no elevator. Helpful receptionist with unfortunately two arms. I carried my bag pack upstairs on my own. But then breakfast the following morning, fresh fruit salad with a view, croissants from heaven and for the meat eaters Italian mouthwatering goodies. Did I mention the view? Oké, but what a view. On top of the building high above the dwellings of the common folks we could see the harbor.

This hotel is located in the heart of Catania, the historic center. The rooms are very large, clean and fragrant. The terrace and breakfast place is PERFECT! Greenery and a view of church domes. Breakfast FANTASTIC. The staff are extremely friendly, especially Oscar and the wonderful woman who serves breakfast. HIGH RECOMMENDATION!!!! Thank you. Dragan i Sanja, Novi Sad, Sebia💖

Excellent breakfast on the rooftop terrace, simply exceptional for the view and the food - omelette, fruit, egg, ham, bread, salad. Elegant rooms. Oscar and his family do their utmost to help and make everyone's stay perfect. there was building work (17th C) so I could not use the balcony, but there was the sun terrace. As long as you can climb the stairs, it's great. Location is also ideal

A wonderful place, super friendly, huge rooms 5m high in an old palazzo. But the best of the best: full, freshly made breakfast on a terrace with marvelous view over whole Catania. Around 5-10 minutes walking to all the important sites of the city, airport bus stop in front of the hotel. Just bear in mind it’s a wonderful - but old - so there is no lift and it can be a bit rustic at times.
