Magione del Re is located in the historic centre of Catania, a few meters from the Duomo, in Via Etnea street, the heart of the city, and it is placed near the main historical and cultural points of interest. Magione del Re is absorbed in the cultural liveliness and nightly entertainment of the city, in addition it offers a relaxing stay in a strategic and peaceful location. The structure is situated in a historic building of the early ‘900. While the rooms were updated, a special attention was given to the preservation and recovery of both the stuccos’ celings and the tiles in Sicilian majolica floors, even if these lutters are still intatct. What is more, the name of each room is given to the stuccos of the ceilings.

Thank you very much for having us! We spent a wonderful week at your place for 2023’s new years eve! We definitely recommend this place for anybody who is looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay. It is a historical building renovated with care and respect for its origins. The distance to the main road of the city center (via Etnea) is very short (7 minutes walking). The hosts were genuinely friendly and attentive to our needs. The room was airy with two big windows in three layers: original wood and glass windows in the middle, modern soundproofing thermopane ones on the exterior and window shutters made out of wood on the interior that provide a perfect blackout in the night for people who are bothered by light in their sleep. Taking into consideration that we visited at the end of December / beginning of January, we found the room surprisingly warm. Security is guaranteed by 2 metal doors and 1 massive wood door before getting to the room. Breakfast was very tasteful, especially the sweets. For us Magione del Re exceeded each one of our expectations!…

We were only able to stay one night in this B&B but it was the best bed, pillows and linens of our three week trip. The owners are so kind and helpful - esp as our flights were delayed and we arrived later than expected. Breakfast was lovely and very extensive. I would certainly stay here again if visiting Catania.

Lovely stay at Magione del re! The staff was all incredibly kind and helpful. They even looked up and printed out a bus schedule for us to help us get to Taormina one day. They also made a special trip out one evening to bring us extra towels…so sweet! The room was clean and nice and the breakfast was good as well. Definitely recommend this place. Thank you :)

A short walk to some nice restaurants. About 7 minutes walk to the Metro. Great room with comfortable bed and good shower. A big breakfast spread. Good restaurant advice and info on buses and metros. Very nice owners. We got the hotel to send a taxi to pick us up at the airport which was a good idea and very reasonable. It worked well.

The hosts and staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, spacious and clean. The location is great, only a short walk from the Via Etnea and other sights in Catania. The breakfast was fantastic. I can certainly recommend Magione del Re.

My mum and I had a wonderful stay at Magione del Re! The owners were so kind, going out of their way to ensure we got the most of our stay in Catania. The breakfast was delicious! The rooms were spacious and super clean too. Thoroughly recommend!

My room was fabulous: high ceiling, large, cool and very tastefully decorated; breakfast was also top class, with delicious local food, such as pistachio croissants, and the very kind, helpful owners can arrange for late check-in and airport transfers - a real blessing when flights are delayed or are very early in the morning. This B&B is indeed excellent value for money. Two drawbacks though: one is really minor - in my room there were two steps to climb behind the bathroom door, so careful on the way out! The other is a bit more serious for solo travellers because via Plebiscito is terribly dark: street lights are few and far between, although it is not far from the city centre at all. This, however, is none of the owners' fault. In fact, their keyless, access code system is one of the safest modes I have ever come across: bravissimi!…

The rooms (at least the one I stayed in) are awesome, really great paintings at the ceiling, however, the balcony was tiny. The staff was really friendly (even though some people hardly speak any English), the breakfast is good with several nice choices.

Fantastic boutique B & B. 5 minutes walk from everything. Virtually newly opened from the look of it. Our bedroom (more like a suite) was fantastic. Lovely shower. Balcony. Architecture. Space. Facilities. Everything for a very reasonable price. The owners are extremely helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. Would stay here again and again. Also the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Especially the freshly made local pastries. Bravo. !!!!!
