Firstly I must thank Mr Forno the wonderful owner of Le Cisterne. Having refused to stay in our initial holiday home(Beware of AirBNB property descriptions!), our choice of Le Cisterne was a very last minute arrangement. Mr Forno could not have been more welcoming and the property is an oasis in the foothills of Mt Etna. The rooms were very...

Stayed one night after driving around the base of Etna. Lovely quiet hotel with acres of trees surrounding it. Room was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. Lovely bathroom with heaps of towels and toiletries. Friendly staff and owner who could not have been more helpful. Early in season so pool not an option. Had a lovely lunch and dinner, and on...

Let's start with the good points: We liked the building and the surroundings. The rooms were also decent, although the cleaning service could be better (but it seems to be a general problem in Sicilian hotels). The service is really nice, the receptionists are willing to help. And now why my opinion is not good: The lunch was OK, but...

It's up on the slopes of Mt Etna so it was cool at night. Very quiet, lovely setting. Food okay. Very restful. I would definitely go back. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's on the way to Etna Sud which is helpful to those hiking the mountain. Go into S Maria de Licodia or Bellepasso

This isn't the best of Agriturismo, but if you're looking for somewhere on the slopes of Etna within easy reach of Catania this is a good choice. The food wasn't out of this world, nor were the rooms outstanding, but it was comfortable and the staff were very accommodating. This is great if you've got a big party and want...

It is placed inside a beautiful and peaceful valley surrounded by oaks and chestnut trees. The whole staff was very friendly and polite, the room was clean and silent and it was washed and clean up every morning. The food was quite good, with tipical products and quite good red wine. There are facilities for babies like a slide and...

I attempted to eat Easter lunch here. We had been at the procession in Adrano and arrived a bit later than our 1430 estimate by 15 minutes, but we had asked if a late arrival would be a problem and was assured it wouldn’t be. The setting of the place was nothing special and we were quickly directed to a...

Le Cisterne is a beautiful place. And the people are very friendly, and speak english. Food is good and it's just a very relaxing place to stay, rooms are nice and clean. We definitely recommend it highly to stay here for a couple of days and visit the Etna.

This is the place to be when you are looking for tranquillity and nature. Nice rooms, good food in the restaurant ( we booked half board because the town Adrano is about 15 min. drive by car ) From the hotel you can go the the Etna in about 40 minutes drive ( ask for the road at the reception,...

Le Cisterne is an Agriturismo located just under the Etna Volcano. The quality of services is quite high and the staff very friendly and helpful. The place has been refurbished very nicely and was built with typical lava rock you get in this area Our rooms were nice and well decorated in the typical agriturismo style. The pool area was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Le Cisterne is a rural, yet wonderfully refined, restored 19th century farmhouse. Built from local lava stone, its traditional Sicilian architecture has been wonderfully preserved. We're talking about stone archways and wood-beamed ceilings. The welcome you'll receive is just as impressive, too. With staff as friendly as they come, you'll never feel like a room number. Sat in the foothills of Mount Etna, Le Cisterne is secluded in 20 hectares of oak and chestnut woodland, which falls within the National Park of Etna - one of the most beautiful nature parks of Italy. ... more   less

“In my opninion the most beautiful room is called FELCE as it has a wooden floor and it's well decorated. But it's also a smallest one and it's situated over the reception so I don't know if it's noisy. The rooms situated in the yard, on the back of the building are bigger and really quiet.”
