Nice staff, modern and clean rooms. The hotel has a tiny pool in close vicinity to hotel thus all sounds are audible to rooms facing it - most likely this is the reason why the pool opens at 10:30 (quite late for early risers willing to enjoy the morning’s silence). But, I have no explanation why, at 7:30-8:00, the pool keepers use a noisy blower to clean the fallen leaves. Good breakfast but, after 9:00 you risk to have no many choices as shelves are not replenished (see pictures taken around 9:15 a.m.) DO NOT walk to sea (is not too faraway) but the way down the hill is really creepy: mountains of garbage, dirty streets, “Mariupol 2022” style houses - no way to feel safe or in EU, especially at night. Hope that garage repairs ended - it was a complete nightmare for clients and for staff to calm them down when, at 8:00 a.m., all drills, hammers and stone-cutting machines started to remind us that is working day… Last but not least: if you heard something about italian driving style.. well, it is true!…
This hotel made our holiday. Granted it’s not in the best area but we absolutely loved it. The room was huge, spotless, modern and has everything you need. We were road facing so the road noise was there but it didn’t bother us as up with a 9 year old at 7am! The beds were very comfy and for Italy in our experience this is rare. The pool area was lovely, the pool wasn’t big but big enough for the amount of guests. The reception staff were all welcoming and helpful, the staff working on the bar and at breakfast were all fab and spoke good English. The breakfast was very fresh with plenty of continental choice. We also had a light lunch on a couple of occasions which was lovely. We hired a car which you definitely need as nothing in walking distance apart from a little bar/coffee place across the road. The car hire at the hotel was €100 per day but we found a local company before we flew out for £400 for the week so it’s better to look around. We managed to park at the hotel no problem. €40 in taxi from airport to hotel. Going into the city and driving was something else. Parking is hard work but overall we loved it. We have been all over Italy for the last 12 years and I must say the food we had in Sicily was truly the best. We ate a lot of fresh fish. Places to visit Mt Etna - €90 in cable car but worth it Etnaland water park €80 for 3 people but it’s amazing for families and would highly recommend Taomina - the beach was stoney but a beautiful place. Absolutely full of tourists though. Overall our second visit to Sicily did not disappoint, my family had the most amazing time. It’s not your typical ‘family’ holiday but that is why we liked it so much. We would stop at this hotel again and again and would highly recommend…
We stayed for a long weekend to celebrate a hen do. The staff were friendly, attentive and could not have done enough for us to ensure our stay was extra special. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel is located a short walk from the city centre. Thank you for making our stay in Catania so special- we cannot recommend this hotel enough!
The most amazing and helpful staff we’ve ever met. While the hotel isn’t at the prime location, the amenities, cleanliness, and the service offered by the staff were superb. The way they handled our issue with the rent a car agency exceeded our expectations. They are truly devoted to the customer experience to which they delivered at each front. We will be back.
I have to say that this hotel really ticked all the boxes for us. Let me start by saying that it is super clean, the staff are extremely friendly and the hotel is central with a great underground parking area. The room had a complementary mini bar!
Stayed one night here on my travels through. Lovely hotel. Huge big rooms and bathrooms. Outside pool and terrace. Nice staff and bar. Free parking at the front. Couldn’t fault the hotel. As for the town of Catania is was pretty awful so I suggest staying in the hotel and enjoying that.
Wonderful and friendly staff, rooms are massive and extremely clean. Although slightly outside the city centre, the Airone City is a hidden gem. Extremely reasonable price per night. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer in Catania. Out of all the hotels we stayed in during our tour of Italy, this hotel was by far the best!
We spent just one night in this wonderful hotel and we wish we could have stayed much longer. We were greeted by Valeria and she did a very professional and great job. She was able to answer all of our questions. The hotel was clean, spacious, it has an underground garage and breakfast was good. Grazie mille!
We spent 4 days at Airone Hotel and really enjoyed it. It was super clean, the rooms were extra large and the staff helped us a lot, they proposed great places to visit. They only have a couple of rooms, so it was quite quiet. We loved it.
I was looking for a large, 4 star hotel room since I was traveling with my 2 teenage nephews. Airone had fulfilled my needs perfectly. We have stayed 40m2 room with 3 people comfortably. Hotel is spotlessly clean & comfortable and spacious. Staff is excellent and well trained. (My nephews are always late for extensive buffet breakfast. Every morning we were the last guests, and staff always asked our permission to remove food after 10:30. I found this extremely polite. I congratulate the management for selecting and training such young people in service businesses) I strongly recommend this hotel for families since the rooms are perfect for several kids. The area is a bit depressed part of Catania but we never had a problem while I was driving late nights. The hotel is only 4 km. to the center, where you can reach Via Etnea. At last l had some very bad experiences in Sicily, which this hotel made me forget about them. …
