The location was good as very close to center and the city beach. The room was quite basic and overpriced compared to value and when coming again, I would probably book an Airbnb as hotels tended to be pricy in general. The staff at reception (except the man who seemed nice but we did not speak Italian) was very poor: 1. questions were answered not like at any hotel in the world: example: - where can I buy bus tickets? Answer: on the bus… nope not working for public buses and only the beach bus - no polite hello in the morning or whenever - checkout was also not working well Then you have to leave your keys directly on the front desk and they leave it there…so you could take any key jus laying around And did you guess that this hotel has 4 stars???

Friendly staff but otherwise a total catastrophe. They charged us 180€ a night for a probably seldomly used room at the back of the hotel with doors that don't properly open or close, dirty floor and mirrors and a moldy smell. Furthermore, they didn't ask for our ID cards as is mandatory in Italy. Not worth a cent!

We stayed at the Vacanze hotel at the end of October 2019 and could not fault this hotel at all. Our stay was comfortable and we were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and amenities of the hotel considering how cheap the price was for staying. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the marina where there are lots of restaurants and shops to look around. Also great for going on the boat trip (or getting the bus) to Neptune’s Cave. The hotel is easy to get to from the airport using the €1.50 airport shuttle bus which stops on the main road and is a 2 minute walk to the hotel. We were extremely impressed with the hotel staff who were very helpful and catered to a couple of requests (for an iron and extra pillows!) Please make sure to visit the restaurant which is next door, the food was delicious (see picture), the house wine was lovely and staff again are extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Alghero!

Avoid this hotel. It is not four star quality. The room had no hot water for three days despite complaints and on the fourth day the water was barely lukewarm. The toilet did not flush properly despite complaints. Breakfast was supposed to be ready at 7 am but at 7-45 am the food was being laid out in the breakfast room. Water arrived one morning at 8-15. Attempts were made to charge extra for fresh towels. This information was contained in small print at reception but not drawn attention to on checking in.Towels were supposed to last for three days yet there was no possibility of them drying because the fan would work only when you are in the room. There were no proper bathroom toiletries as you would expect in a four star hotel. Reception tried to defend owner/manager of the hotel who was out of the country and could not be contacted directly with a complaint even though hotel is only open a few months each year. This hotel was grossly overpriced for what it offered. Sardinian authorities should review its four star rating because current rating is a mockery and an insult to all the other quality hotels in Sardinia.

Excellent value if you are after a comfy bed, clean room and friendly staff. This hotel was half the price of the others in the area, at the time we booked it, Hassle free checking in and out, Not sure about 4 star but solid 3, and we didn't pay 4 star prices. No regrets!
