This is my first review on Trip Advisor as I’m eager to share how wonderful our stay was with Villa Las Tronas. The staff are kind and impeccable, thoughtful of every detail and respond immediately to any needs. On the day before our arrival, I emailed the staff that one member of our group needed urgent care with a dentist and X-ray. We received a response in less than an hour confirming the first available dentist appointment as well as recommendations from the dentist to manage the issue overnight. Additionally, on my friend’s birthday, the staff prepared an absolutely stunning cake—served at breakfast as requested!—and lit a candle and sang happy birthday. It definitely impressed all of us and I felt they had really gone above and beyond to make the birthday special. The views are unmatched, the property is gorgeous, and the pool is large with great service. The hotel is surrounded by a tree-lined garden, offering a feeling of both privacy and seclusion, with a touch of whimsy. The property is a short walk from the main part of town, and we appreciated the feeling of “getting away from it all” while still being close enough for the evening stroll to dinner. Also, the evening turndown service had some extra details that we appreciated, including fresh towel service and other touches. We were genuinely sad to leave and are already planning to return the next chance we get!…
This was the perfect honeymoon spot! We loved how luxurious everything felt here. It’s an easy walk into town for exploring and restaurants too. We enjoyed the incredible breakfasts, beautiful sunsets, and as much Mikki (the resident cat) time as he could stand 😂. We are looking forward to our next visit here!!
This is a small beautiful hotel set in a garden on a little ridge facing the sea. Once used as a hunting lodge by the Italian royal family it is now the place to stay in Alghero. Perfect service, wonderful surroundings and only a 5 minute walk away from the old town of Alghero. We loved it and can't wait to come back!!
First of all, the hotel and grounds are beautiful and has been kept incredibly well. We felt like we were in a palace. The facilities are excellent. The location is fantastic. A short scenic walk from town. The food was gorgeous, breakfast, lunch and finger food. The lunch by the pool is fresh baguettes. The conference room was made up very nicely for our group and the pastries and coffee were lovely. They catered for vegetarians and vegans very well. Just let them know in advance as it is a boutique hotel. But one of the best parts was the friendliness of all the staff including front of house, bar and pool staff. Everybody was very nice and patient with our lack of Italian. 5 stars and I hope to go back soon!
Dog friendly. People friendly. Great location. Great beach access. Stayed an extra night it was so good. Great breakfast.Highly recommend. Large bedroom and outdoor space with beautiful view of sea and sunset
This old mansion felt like the Sardinian version of the Grand Budapest Hotel, lobby boy and all. Sleep to the ocean, eat poached eggs for breakfast and sip on apertifs on the gorgeous grounds. High ceilings, great pillows, old fashioned staff and service. The spa was also chic.
We stayed in this fabulously situated hotel, where we hosted our wedding, to which we invited 10 friends and family. While the setting on a promontory surrounded by crystal clear water was unparalleled, the service and facilities left us cold. Our room has the unrelenting odor of cheap perfume, and when we opened the door to our terrace, which felt like a prison rec area, the odor of cigarettes rushed in. Other guests used the same terrace solely to get their nicotine fixes. At the helm of the hotel was a woman who made it clear that she hated us (because we’re gay?) and all our guests. At one point, she was heard shouting into her mobile phone about our wedding party, referring to us as “pigs” in Italian. That happened immediately after she publicly yelled at one of the restaurant’s wait staff, who had been extremely kind to us. When it was discovered we were a same sex couple, we were informed our wedding had to be out of sight of other guests. We asked to use the lawn facing the sea instead but were informed that space had to be kept clear in case a helicopter needed to make an emergency landing there. We were forceful, however, and prevailed. This was supposedly a five star hotel. Maybe long ago it deserved that rating but certainly not today.…
This place is perfect: views, gardens, spa, unique location but most of all the staff is wonderful , nothing is impossible or too difficult , they really go out of their way to make you perfectly happy!
We stayed for just two nights, and wish it could have been longer. Our room was the perfect mixture of old world grandure and modern convenience. The toiletries were devine. We had a fabulous view from our balcony and loved watching the sun set. Breakfast was amazing, perfect poached eggs, and a selection of cakes and pies to rival the best patisserie. Service was impeccable, friendly and informative. The outside pool was a great way to cool down. A wonderful couple of days.
Just back from a wonderful week at Villa Las Tronas with my wife. Stepping out onto the terrace with a welcoming drink you are treated to one of the most stunning views in the Mediterranean with the deep blue water lapping against the rocks which the hotel is built on. We had a garden view room on the second floor which was very comfortable and immaculately clean. All the staff at the hotel are very attentitive and caring in making sure your stay is memorable. The spacious grounds include many places to enjoy the experience of the location, including the pool area which is expertly looked after by a wonderful lady where nothing is too much trouble. We will be back around the same time next year to relax again enjoy the hotel and Alghero.
