A very convenient small hotel near Piazza Bra, good breakfast. Some slight difficulties with over-enthusiastic air conditioning, helpful receptionists recommending good restaurants and giving general good service.
Excellent place to stay for a short break to Verona. 15 minutes walk from the train station. 10 minutes walk to the Verona Arena. Hotel is very clean, the decoration was lovely and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast, eggs, sausage and bacon as well as fruit with the usual continental pastries . We’d an amazing time in Verona and enjoyed out stay here, thanks for looking after us.
Can't say enough good things about our experience here. Perfect room, delightful breakfast, and wonderful staff. To top it off, like idiots we neglected to follow the checkout procedures and found ourselves semi-stranded at the front desk very early in the morning. Fortunately, someone was able to check us out over a video feed, which literally saved an entire city on our planned itinerary. THANK YOU!!!!! We would stay here again without a second thought. Highly recommended.
Relais Empire on Corso Nuova in Verona was perfect for a 5 night stay for the operas in the Arena and for exploring the old town. Just 200m from the Piazza Bra and the Arena Amphitheatre the rooms were a good size, clean and airconditipned, breakfast was good, and all the staff from reception to breakfast room and housekeeping were efficient and friendly. Won't be looking any further for accommodation if we visit Verona again.
The hotel is a little more ‘tired’ than the pictures suggest, but is otherwise in a great location for the station and the old town. Reception was also helpful with keeping luggage after checking out. What brings the rating down is the breakfast: the eggs were ghastly- like yellow glue, the pastries on the stale side, and much was difficult to physically get to.
If you could give a 5 * review based on staff alone Relais Empire would qualify. All the ladies were welcoming, friendly and highly efficient, nothing was too much trouble, super service and a credit to the hotel. We had a junior suite which was a nice size with top class air conditioning. Unfortunately there was no easy chair where you could sit and read but a table with two dining chairs. The room was immaculately clean with fresh towels every day. The bed was large however the mattress was firm which may not suit everyone. Breakfast was basic continental with good coffee. Location was good being only a short stroll to piazza bra and the arena. A word of caution, pedestrians need to be extremely aware of the scooter riders who can go at high speeds both on cycle tracks but also on pavement's (sidewalks).…
Very comfortable room. Air con was especially welcome after a day's exploring in warm temperatures. Friendly and very helpful staff both on reception and on breakfast service. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is very well placed - only a 10 minute walk from the main railway station, and easy access to the old city centre.
We stayed here in 2019 and when we decided to stay in Verona for a night recently we didn’t look at any other hotel. We tend to stay in small hotels, and this may be the best we ever stayed in. It is in a perfect location, about a 10 minute walk from both the train station and the Piazza Bra. The reception was friendly and very helpful with regard to recommendations of restaurants. The room was extremely well appointed ( bordering on luxury)and quiet, and had a large bathroom. The breakfast had a large variety of options including eggs, sausages, pancakes, breads, meat , cheeses, etc. I hope we can stay here again at some point and we may need to come up with a reason to go to Verona just to stay here.
Great hotel in a convenient position at a reasonable price. Easy, short walk from railway station and only 5 min walk to the main Arena Piazza. Such helpful staff - our flight from uk was delayed and they were so helpful in phoning our restaurant we had booked in advance to advise we were going to be late. Requested courtyard facing rooms as learnt from TripAdvisor they are quieter, non-street facing rooms. Nice, varied continental breakfast. Would return if staying in Verona
I liked the fell and atmosphere of this hotel. There was a bit of old world Italian feel to it. It was located in a central part of Verona so that is a positive thing. We were able to walk around to find a place for dinner. The rooms were comfortable and large enough.
