Verona was part 2 of our 3 legged honeymoon tour of Italy and the Hotel Antica Porta Leona proved to be an excellent choice. We note from some old reviews that they refer to the rooms before the recent renovations and we would suggest to anyone looking at staying in this hotel that they discount reviews from before November 2010...

This hotel is clean, well decorated (most rooms are decorated in a "modern" style), and offers a hearty breakfast (breads, cakes, scrambled eggs, warm/cooked breakfast sausage, cold meats/hams, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, fresh juices, etc). The staff spoke a range of languages, including English, and gave fantastic suggestions on where to eat in Verona. The hotel offers free Wifi, which...

Modern and stylish hotel located at the end of the street leading to Juliet's balcony. Location couldn't be better: close to all the major sightseeing spots like the Arena (Piazza Bra) but also next to the riverfront which is a lovely stroll in the evening. Tip: there is an excellent Geletaria (without a name!) close to the Roman Bridge. If...

Very nicely decorated, very clean and neat hotel. The rooms are small, but the bathrooms are reasonably sized for Italian standards. The bathrooms are also very modern with wonderful features. The lobby is very stylish and welcoming. The staff is helpful and provided passwords for free wi-fi. The breakfast is very nice as well. Pastries, coffee, fresh fruit, cold cuts...

This hotel was in a great location, the staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable. The bed was a little hard for my taste but I was tired and had no trouble sleeping. Loved having a great selection for breakfast (but if you are looking for a hot cooked to order breakfast, you might want to travel...

My Wife and i stayed at the Antica Porta Leona for one night to see Aida in the arena. The hotel is small contemporary and very nice. We did not take advantage of the Spa, however i think it would have been consistent with the rest of the property. The front desk attendant was somewhat unfriendly but she could have...

This hotel is located in the old city. It is just a couple of minutes away from Piazza Erbe. If you are taking a car, just follow the sign to the hotel. Remember to get the local parking folder from the hotel. It enables you to park in any blue parking area in the old city free of charge. There...

This hotel is in a great location. Right down the street from Juliet's balcony. That is about all I can say good about the hotel. The room was fairly tiny and the bed very uncomfortable. The lighting in the room was terrible and the TV very small. I would not stay at this hotel again. We didn't even bother trying...

We have spent there four nights. The location is excellent, there was no traffic noise, in fact there was no noise at all, despite the fact that our room was on the first floor: I think it is perfect to rest after a tiring day. Moreover it is near a bus station, which is only a few minutes from the...
