A really charming hotel. Ideally situated round the corner from the Piazza Bra, just a short walk from the Arena. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful and go to endless trouble to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms are nice, simply furnished, air conditioned and clean. Breakfast (self service) is provided outdoors in a courtyard next to a...

We spent 3 days at the Torcolo over the weekend of March 28-31, and incidentally the weather was superb. We booked via the hotel website and the communications indicated a friendly and helpful hotel. The location is just off Piazza Bra and as the air conditioning doesn't work makes the rooms very noisy - but in as central a location...

My wife and I stayed one night here on our way to Florence and found it to be a wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with which sites to see and where to eat. The hotel is in a great location just off Piazza Bra' so it was a great location for seeing all the sights. Room...

My wife and I stayed there for one night during our vacation in North italy, and we wish that all the hotels we had stayed at were as nice as this. And at such a reasonabale price!! The location is fantastic, just a block from the Piazza Bra. When we arrived, the woman at the desk was so welcoming and...

We booked this hotel based on TA reviews and our Fodor’s guide book, and they were right on. The hotel is just steps from the Coliseum and a short bus ride from the train station (get directions from their website). Because we stayed in the Opera off season (which is held at the Coliseum), we had a great rate of...

Location was great - just a short walk to the main square and Arena. Staff was super-friendly and spoke perfect English. Off-site parking was a pain though. Room was clean, had a/c and its own bathroom (no shower but bathtub had a handheld shower). Nothing fancy, no frills, but I would definitely stay here again.

I found the listing for this hotel in one of the Rick Steves books. The hotel was rated only as one star. However, its location and promised reserved parking peaked my interest. I extensively communicated with the hotel via fax and e-mail. Their responses were always prompt. We were asked to prepay our one-night stay in advance. We were also...

Just to confirm the trend of just about all reviews posted for Hotel Torcolo - the location is great and the service is unparralled. They will chase up any query you have and are so helpful, it makes you wonder why more places can't do it
