If you’re like me don’t mind walking then this hotel is a sightseeing dream from here to San Zeno through to Verona around 20 mins walk if you like the center. Then this hotel is a challenge it’s a quieter area not much going on only in the center. Rooms are ok modern rooms everything you need except Irons, no tea or coffee facility, shower a bit on the small side and tiles need grouting to remove shower mould. If this hotel offered the traveler a bit more room facility I would come again it lacked the bits I needed as mentioned. Staff were kind and friendly and breakfast was adequate. I would not say 4 star more 3 star in my opinion that’s my review enjoy
We booked this hotel as a special trip for one of our party who had recently suffered a bereavement. We specifically booked it as it was advertised as a Spa hotel. Imagine our disappointment when just 3 days before travel I received an email from them telling us the Spa was in fact closed and not available for use. We paid more than we would normally in order to have the Spa facility. The excuse was it was Covid restrictions. However upon arrival at the hotel it turned our their Spa is ALWAYS closed between June and October as it is too expensive to run, They therefore got our booking and money under false pretences. I am also emailing their manager as they tried to say we were told on booking that this was the case and that is not true. On top of that the chairs by the pool were mostly broken AND there were no cushions or sun umbrellas provided. The towels were charged at 2 Euros per day not 1 as advertised and they were shoddy.…
Seldom experienced a place with such arrogant front office staff. Pity because the place is well located, comfortable and waitresses at breakfast are really helpful and kind. They send you tons of useless information when booking but they miss the most important about check out "congestion" at the till. So at times of a global pandemic they keep you waiting 40 minutes in a room with 25 other people and they pretend it's normal!!!
We originally came here for one night and stayed two. we were welcomed extremely friendly by clizia, and the rest of our stay she and the lady serving us breakfast made us feel like home. thank you so much for those pleasant two days. we home to visit again soon.
we stayed at this hotel for a week, room was spacious & clean with big windows, the bathroom is good & shower was amazing.. they gave us fresh towels everyday & I appreciate that.. staff helpful & friendly, breakfast buffet was very good. location of hotel very good & you can walk to old Verona arena within 25 minutes walk.
I stayed here as part of a small (30-40 person) conference. This is a nice hotel and its not too expensive (10-12 Euros) to taxi from it to the Piazza Bra or the Porto Nuova train station. Unfortunately the hotel did not think to keep their restaurant open at night, which meant that most of the attendees, without transport were stuck for dinner. I asked about using the spa and was told they needed 30 mins notice to heat it up. I came back 30 mins later and asked to be shown the way (as instructed earlier) and the new person staffing the desk rolled his eyes at me in irritation which made me feel awful. 30 mins was not long enough and the actual jacuzzi was still fairly cold.
The only think not in favour of this hotel is the location. You cant walk to the city center... you will always have to catch the bus number 11 (and the only one) Everything else is great. The room was large and bright, very clean! The breakfast is wide and very good. The staff ir very nice and helpfull.
My wife and I stayed here for a week to visit verona/lake Garda. We came after spending a week in Rome, it was our honeymoon. Before staying I read a few reviews on here, as you do. They seemed mixed, however instead of taking any of them as gospel we decided to see for ourselves. Upon arrival, (a short 10 minute drive from the airport) we were greeted at reception and the majority of the staff were cheery, really helpful and spoke great English. After an easy check-in we made our way up to our room, first impressions were that the hotel was clean, spacious and bright. The area surrounding the hotel isn’t welcoming but this was fine as most days we were planning on walking into Verona etc. Our room was big, the bathroom complete with jacuzzi style bath and jet shower. The shower cubicle itself is quite small so it’s a bit of a struggle manoeuvring around to wash your hair etc. A lot of reviews on here say that the bed is really hard and uncomfortable to sleep on and there’s only one pillow each, we had no issues however this is obviously down to personal taste and through these reviews I learnt that a mattress topper/extra pillows are available upon request. This is good however you’d have no idea if you didn’t read the reviews as this information isn’t made clear anywhere. We read through the booklet (information about the hotel etc) and learnt that it was ‘forbidden’ to eat/drink anything from outside of the hotel on the hotel premises. Meaning you couldn’t self cater whatsoever. If like us you enjoy a couple of beers of an evening but don’t want to break the bank this makes it extremely difficult. The bar is fine but a couple having a few drinks each every night could leave you with a pretty hefty bill at the end of your stay. Not to mention food, which I believe is offered at the hotel if you order from the bar, but we saw no sign of a restaurant being open in the evening, and no information was given to us about it, if it were. So in that case I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do about eating in the evening unless you have the money to eat in a restaurant every night. The walk into verona is about 20-25 minutes, depending on pace. This was neither here nor there for us, but if you’re not a fan of travelling far by foot then I’d stay somewhere more central. Lake Garda was beautiful, an absolute must see if you’re in the area and only a 15 minute train journey from Verona station. Breakfast at the hotel was good, there was plenty of option and it all tasted fresh and well cooked. The TV in the room had over 900 channels, however we only found one that was in English and I’d estimate about half of them were just a blank screen, so this needs updating. It would seem that the hotel prides itself on being eco-friendly, they don’t offer single use plastic shampoo/hygiene bottles which is a good thing, instead opting for a squeezy bottle attached to the shower wall. The sentiment is good however in order for this to work you should provide shower gel, conditioner and shampoo. They only provide shower gel. These are the types of things you would expect a 4 star hotel to provide. We made use of the spa, it was clean and welcoming with a variety of rooms and amenities to use. We had a great two hours in there and probably could have had another hour, but this was not offered instead only two hour slots. In the spa they had a room offering tea coffee and water, however I noticed next to the jug of water a stack of single use plastic cups which made me do a bit of a double take on their eco-friendly stance. Overall like the title says, not terrible, not amazing and all in all a good base if you don’t plan on spending too much time in the hotel itself. There’s things that can definitely be improved on and things that they do well. If you go expecting a u.k/u.s four star, then you’ll be disappointed but you’re better off just taking hotel San Marco as it comes. …
room was clean and staff was very friendly. hotel allowed us to store our baggage there while they were getting the rooms ready. even brought it up for us after. rooms were also very clean and wifi was good. hotel also had a bus stop right in front of it to bring you to the train station so it's very convenient. a little far from the city center though. worth it for the price. would stay again.
We needed some time to warm up to this hotel but in the end liked it. It is a modern, spacious hotel with a cosy lounge and bar area at the entrance, friendly and efficient personnel, a pool, a nice breakfast, a parking garage, including for bikes. However, I would recommend not booking the basic room category. When we first checked into our room it was tiny, with a small bathroom, no balcony and felt kind of bare and depressing. We then decided to upgrade to a room that felt much better, with a balcony, more space, a lovely view, a nice bathroom with a hydromassage tub and shower and a comfortable bed. Wifi worked well too. The minibar wasn’t stocked and there is no coffee or tea maker. The location felt far away from the historic centre at first but we had bikes and then also started using Verona bikes from the station in San Zeno and it’s actually quite close if you don’t have to walk. We loved San Zeno with its beautiful church and excellent restaurants (i.e. Localino, Vescovo Moro...) and really enjoyed the city on bikes. The pool is nice and refreshing, the downside being that the sun doesn’t reach it in the afternoon. The hotel is not too far from the train station either. Overall we were happy with our stay.…
