Accademia Hotel boasts a superb location right in the heart of Verona, making it easily accessible on foot or by car. Despite being just off the bustling streets of Via Scala, the property manages to offer a surprisingly quiet and serene atmosphere. The ground floor boasts a cozy bar adorned with leather armchairs and classical accents in decoration. All in all, this hotel is an excellent and reliable option, ideal for discerning individuals seeking a practical and comfortable four-star accommodation.

Hard Product:
The common areas are tastefully refreshed, emanating an elegant blend of classic and contemporary elements. While significant remodeling efforts have been made in many of the rooms and suites, the overall product still retains a slightly dated ambiance, particularly noticeable in the bathrooms. Nevertheless, the beds and sofas are meticulously maintained, offering a comfortable setting for a restful night's sleep.

Service:
The service provided is notably proactive and warm, despite the hotel's heavy reliance on migrant workers, they are impressively well-trained and eager to ensure guests' satisfaction. However, due to the high volume of guests, breakfast service may experience fluctuations in consistency.

We particularly enjoyed our stay in the room facing the serene inner courtyard, where the morning tranquility can be blissfully embraced through the large vintage windows. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for its exceptional value and unmatched comfort. It truly stands out as one of the most splendid options within the shopping district.

Excellent and very comfortable 3 night stay. Our 1st floor suite was well thought out - walk-in shower, 3 large windows with blackout curtains overlooking a quiet side street, good lighting, plenty of storage space and great air con and soundproofing.
The only downside was breakfast. It was difficult to find an empty table after a late night at the opera and the hotel's "served buffet" made things very slow. More staff on duty would help reduce waiting time.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We appreciate that you enjoyed your stay, the location, our staff and above all your room. Our buffet breakfast is self-service, while only fresh food is served in order to give a quality and hygienic service and this choice seems to be appreciated by most of our guests. Warm regards. A. This was the best hotel in our 3 weeks Northern Italy tour.
Though rated 4 stars, it gives a 5 star experience. A very classy hotel. Location is perfect, in the center of the historic district, 10 meters from Verona's "5th Avenue" and 3 minutes from the Arena. Everything is within short walking distance.
They have parking for 21 Euro, but can also provide a Verona parking tag, if you can find a free blue parking spot.
The hotel is meticulous in detail and amenities. The room was large, and we lucked out and even had a balcony and a small sitting area. The maintenance is great. Large 50+ " TV. Bed was large. Room had many outlets available, with a special device for charging.
Service at the front desk was superb. The public places are extremely well maintained.
I am not sure how they rate hotels in Italy. We stayed at a 4 star in Arezzo that felt like 2 stars. Compared to that experience, the Accademia is a 10 star experience.
Highly recommended.

After traveling around Italy for a week, we felt we had been ejected into hostile territory upon arrival at the Accademia Hotel. The building, located on a narrow road has virtually no natural light so in addition to being somber (photos on its website are deceiving), the furniture is old fashioned. The two female day time reception clerks are unfriendly and staid.
We had asked for a quiet room away from an elevator and were given a room caddy corner to - an elevator ! The second room had a narrow door opening up to a courtyard which allowed a bit of natural light. The plastic cups for tea are tacky.
Two stars for its location but there are many hotels centrally located near the Arena. Overall, this is a hotel for the non-living !

Close friends and family love this place and regularly stay here. It’s located on one of the most desirable (and busiest) streets in the city center so it’s great for walking around—everything you need is right there. The hotel has an old world charm to it and a number of nooks and areas throughout the hotel to sit and chat, enjoy a drink, even work remotely in a nice and private conference room should the need arise. The staff was helpful and quick to accomodate any requests.

On the downside: We had some street noise and a nightly cigarette smell coming into our bathroom from somewhere. The room (or at least the suite we had) was outdated, generic and poorly decorated compared to the rest of the hotel. Finally, the sheets were scratchy and the bed and pillows so hard we almost checked out after the first night, it was so difficult to sleep there. To the hotel’s credit, they immediately put a soft(er) topper on the mattress and brought us several softer pillows to try the next day, which improved the rest of our stay.

I’m not sure how I feel about the Hotel Accademia. The location of the hotel can’t be beat. It’s absolutely perfect-situated within a short walk to Verona’s major attractions. It’s surrounded by shopping and restaurants. There is a sitting area located off of reception and there was a table with a choice of juice or a small glass of sparkling wine offered as a welcome drink. The nicest brief staff interactions were with the bartender and the man who served our breakfast. The rest of my experience was not 5 star. The check in process was efficient but not warm. The valet staff was unfriendly during our entire stay...just an occasional mutter of Buona Sera etc. They did not open doors for us upon coming or going and did not offer to help with bags upon check in. There is an elevator but in order to get to our rooms, we had to take the bags over an additional two flights of stairs. It was not a problem for me but I had to carry my mother’s bags up and down. So, this is something to consider. We booked two superior double rooms. The rooms were very sparse. I certainly felt that the rooms were more of a 3 star experience. The bed and pillows were very firm, the floors were bare with no carpeting, the furniture was dated and mismatched, there was one ugly piece of art on the wall (crooked with a warped frame) and the rest of the walls were drab and bare. All the cups in the room were plastic. My shower head was leaking and sprayed all over when I turned it on. I informed reception at breakfast but 5 hours later if was not fixed. The second time I called, someone came right away and it was fixed in about 15 minutes. Anyone cleaning the room would have noticed a shower head that was not functioning properly. I have stayed in Verona before and I’ve traveled extensively in Italy. You can do better in this magical city.

Dear Mrs Manners, First of all many thanks for choosing our property for your recent stay in Verona and also for taking the time to review your experience with us. We are sorry to read that you did not like our services. Plastic cups are due to the Covid restrictions, but upon request they can always be replaced. Rooms have been recently renovated, even matrasses , which, upon knowing , we can try to make them softer. Softer pillows can be chosen from the list in the rooms. Aware that now it is too late, please accept our excuses for the shower. Glad that in the end we came to fix it. At your disposal for any further assistance, we remain with best regards. 5 of us checked in from the same organisation- we were told we’d had upgrades. My colleagues all got given nice rooms and mine can only be described as a shoe box. It was the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen with a double bed pushed into the corner and only one socket that I had to unplug something from to use. It’s only positive was there was a bath. Breakfast was nice - a good selection of cold meats, cheese, pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs etc. Reasonable location. Wouldn’t stay again.

We stayed in this hotel just after Christmas, when all the markets where still on.
Firstly we were surprised on beautiful Verona is, a return trip in the summer is a must.
The hotel is so very centrally located, everything is so close and on foot, from the elegant shopping street to the arena, it's just there.
The parking facilities are 2 minutes walk, which makes it easy to get in and out of the city.
This is an old fashion elegant hotel, with large rooms and wonderful service.
I heard that Maria Callas stayed there for two years, at the start of her career.

We really enjoyed our three night stay at this hotel. This was a special anniversary / belated birthday celebration and the hotel gave us a lovely spacious room, with a view over the rooftops.
Our room had a minibar / fridge which was good for cold drinks . The hotel also provide complimentary drinks ( Prosecco, juice and water) in one of the downstairs rooms for guests between 1-5pm each day which is a very welcome touch when we returned from sightseeing in the 34 degree heat outside 😀.
The hotel is very central for walking distance to all major tourist attractions in Verona, especially the Arena, and with lots of great shops, restaurants and bars nearby too.
There was a large selection of breakfast items ( cereals, pastries, bread, cakes, fruit, meats, cheeses, etc) available each day and the waiting staff were very efficient in providing teas/ coffees as required.
I’d return to this hotel when in Verona again and would recommend it.

The Accademia is in the heart of the tourist area of Verona. It's about a 25-30 minute walk from the train station on cobblestone part of the way, and getting a cab is not easy (it's in a pedestrian area) so factor that in if you have luggage. It is an older hotel, but in excellent condition with rooms that look new. Check in and check out was quick and professional. My double room was small, with a window but no view, but also elegant and uncramped. A welcome drink and a few packaged snacks are served in the afternoon - it's a nice touch when you arrive. Breakfast was still a buffet, but bowing to COVID, served to you by staff - a good compromise.

The location of the hotel is a blessing and a curse. It is right in the center of the action, so extremely convenient, but also the area, right next to a very busy pedestrian shopping street, is both crowded and noisy. If that's a major point for you, you might want to choose a quieter neighborhood.
