I have been traveling with travel partners and solo for the past 37 years. I'm happy to say this is only my second horrible experience when it comes to hotel and B&B choices that I have encountered. Having said that, this is undoubtedly the worst of the experiences I've ever been through. They have a no refund policy no matter what, even though Orbitz booked the wrong week, and I changed to only be able to use two days here as they were booked beyond that, but they expected me to pay the total amount of 323€. I left early, having stayed just one night, and that was my price. This goes along with live and let learn, but it goes deeper. They also wanted the bill paid in cash. Bad memories of Amanda Knox spinning in my head, I paid. I refuse to let my love of Verona be colored by this crappy place. The toilet seat was broken, and the bidet was cracked. The shower is beyond tiny. No bedspread on the bed. No screens on the windows-- hello mosquitos. The AC didn't work. 5€ cotton bathroom rug in the main room. My minuscule breakfast looked like it had been sitting out for at least an hour, though I requested a 9am service. My hot water for tea was lukewarm, so was the milk (hard to tell if it cooled down from hot, or came to room temperature from cold). The cheese slices were dried out, not fresh. All in all, avoid this place. I said as much to my cab driver as he brought me to my destination in the heart of the old city-- not in the middle of a noisy neighborhood far from the sights of Verona, and not convenient. My "rant" is 100% true, though I'm sure the "management", who never bothered to reply to two emails when I objected, will say otherwise. Orbitz-- I'm done with you, too. Your Chicago phone number certainly isn't in Chicago-- I talked to at least three people there, and no one spoke English I could understand. I have no idea how this B&B (loose term at best) got high ratings, but I feel now I can no longer believe that Trip Advisor is above board due to the glowing reviews. You, Cuore do Giulietta, are a blemish on this beautiful city. …
This is a lovely little spot located the other side of the river from the main town. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk to the main attractions past lots of nice bars and restaurants. The owners are very friendly and attentive and made us a lovely breakfast every morning at time of our choice - he even made home made biscuits and cheesecake for breakfast - what's not to like! There is a lovely terrace to sit on in the summer - unfortunately we were there in November so not really able to test it out! The rooms are quite basic but have all you need for a few days and it is a very reasonable price. We loved Verona and were able to combine with day trips to Lake Garda and Venice so all in all a very enjoyable trip.
North just across the Adige via Ponte di Pietra. An easy walk into the main part of the city and quite close to the Teatro Romano which with its Museo is a must see. Breakfast at the B&B is standard fare. Coffee is brewed rather than served as espresso. Bed and bath are comfortable. WiFi is good. Owners are helpful with questions, speak English and were tolerant of my Italian. Those with disabilities should be aware that although there is an elevator there still a few steps to negotiate into the building and up from the elevator to the floor (4th) of the apartment.
I found this B&B on search site with quite good review. Away from busy city center and good walking distance to all the attraction. The security was good. There was elevator for us and suitcases which is not often the case in European B&B. The room was clean and spacious for European standard. We stayed in room 'terra' which has bathroom outside of bedroom and I have to dress fully each time after shower to go to my bedroom. Other two rooms had bathroom inside and we wished we were accommodated there. The owner was very nice and it was 20€ to have the airport pick up by him. Breakfast was nothing to mention particularly. A few improvement ideas 1. towels can be whiter. 2. Safe can be bolted down since it is so light and small. Overall I think this is a nice places stay. They take cash only so have € ready. But don't go to rip off money changer in front of Juliette house. Use ATM outside of any bank for the better rate.…
We were so please with our hosts at this B&B. Location is great, 5 min on foot from the old town, 15 from the arena. Great breakfast on the rooftop balcony, and most useful tips from our hosts (so sorry, forgot their name). We felt at home! Mille grazie! Jost and Ana and Rafael (California)
A wonderful B&B with everything we needed. Stayed there with friends for a couple of nights in Verona, including the opera. Very friendly welcome including some great restaurant recommendations. Room was very comfortable and clean, with air con and nice bathroom. Fabulous breakfast with lots of homemade goodies on the terrace. A good 15-20 mins walk from the centre but a nice one, over the river. Would definitely recommend.
If, like us, you have a car then this side of the river is the place to be for free parking. It is a fairly comfortable walk to the centre. Cristina is a friendly and very helpful hostess who has many practical suggestions for sight-seeing, restaurants and so on. She will let you borrow (essential) cushions if you are attending an opera at the arena (highly recommended!). The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom shower pressure was good and the air-conditioning efficient (and very necessary with temperatures in the mid 30's). We would be happy to return in the future.
This B&B compared to many others that I've stayed in different countries can be only rated as average. The hosts are nice and friendly. The location is great. It's 10 min walk from the city center. The breakfast includes many 'out-of-box' options such as cereal, Nutella, manufactured biscotti, etc. so nothing special! They'd make you eggs if you want but then again nothing fancy. What I really found distasteful was the bed. The pillow covers were colorful ones from IKEA (nothing wrong with that.) The sheets were white with a cheap, shabby, brown bed cover. There were discoloured stains due to bleach on the pillow cases, which made them look unpleasant. I'm not suggesting that linens must be fancy but the least would be buying a set of all white sheets from IKEA. Then they can use as much as bleach they need and they'd look even cleaner. Plus, pillow cases will match the sheets, huh? Mind you, there won't be housekeeping according to the tag on the door. Only once a week! So, be gentle with your towels or you won't get fresh ones unless you ask. I'd say, for the price, pretty much that's what you get.…
Located a ten minute walk outside of old town, this B and B is clean, quiet and free parking nearby if you are traveling by car. It is a bit confusing to find, since it is located in an apartment building, but it is across the street from a soccer field. The host, Eduardo, couldn't be nicer.
This is a pleasant B&B situated in the top floor of an apartment block. It is located on the other side of the river from the old town, but right next to a bridge to give you easy access to the old town. Edoardo was very hospitable. He gave us the key to his garage to store our bikes in, recommended two good restaurants, recommended a route to walk in town and also recommended cycling routes for us. The breakfast was nice. The room was comfortable and has aircon - which was very important in Verona in August. The shower was powerful and the hotel was clean. We felt at ease and relaxed at the B& B. This place is highly recommended.
