There's not much to this hotel other than a cavernous reception hall and rooms. There is no public area to relax in, no comfortable sofas...the bar brightly lit and quite unwelcoming like a dentists reception area. Large rooms, but light refurbishment required. Not bad, but not a Hotel Iwould return to other than for the location which is great.

Dear Sir, we feel sorry to hearing that you did not appreciate our hotel decoration, you might not had the time to visit our main floor with the beautiful halls and small living rooms to relax and enjoy the antic artworks made by venetian artists, Ca' Sagredo is also considered like a museum. We hope to have the pleasure to...

Venice is tricky if you've never been here. We parked our car for €30 every 24 hours at the Piazzale Roma and took a shuttle water taxi €7 per person to the hotel. The stop is approximately 2 blocks away. A private water taxi is about €50-60. Upon arrival, approximately 9:30 pm we checked in and I asked for an...

We had a wonderful stay at Ca'Sagredo and would recommend it to anyone who likes a hotel steeped in history and in the middle of the city! The staff were so friendly and we were lucky enough to have the perfect view of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was superb with prosseco served on both mornings and well... we just loved...

This hotel is in a superb location - away from the seething crowds but within walking distance of the main tourist spots. Situated on the Grand Canal, a vaporetti stop is right next to it, as is a public gondala for the quick trip across to the other side of the Grand Canal. Public rooms are sumptuous (it is a...

Can you imagine arriving by boat as they did in days of old at the front door of a palace on the Grand canal . Imagine ascending the stone staircase within - surrounded by statues and beautiful paintings across the walls. The exquisite drawing room leading to the ballroom and the incredible views of the canal. Finally your absolutely divine bedroom...

This place is an oasis of beauty and tranquility in Venice. Close to the main attractions but far enough removed from the hustle and bustle, it was a perfect place to stay for 4 days. The building itself is a historical wonder. The rooms are comfortable and very well appointed. We stayed in a Junior Suite that was spacious and...

The 17th Century Palazzo is impeccably restored to its former belezza. A perfect location in Venice, away from the crowds of San Marco and yet on the Grand Canal, opposite the Rialto bridge and market. It is within walking distance from the train station. A perfect place to propose for those romantic couples.

We loved this hotel. It was a dream. The location. The staff. The breakfast. The room. The amenities. All five star and highly recommended. We had dinner at the hotel which was right on the grand canal. The food was outstanding and the view was the most romantic view in the world. If you love marble and murano glass and...

We just returned from staying at Ca Sagredo for two nights. Although we had a junior suite, our room did not have any canal views. It was still a lovely and spacious room with a small sitting room. Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
